5Easy setup for portable satellite serviceJul 12, 2009
By Gary Faulkner
The Carryout is a great solution for portable satellite service. We are using it for our 5th wheel RV. Instead of setting up a pole and manually aiming a Dish 500, I connect the 12v cable and the coax cable, set it on the ground in a resonably level spot, and the carryout does the rest. It will only look at 1 satellite at a time, so is really only suited for a single receiver box. We use Dish network, and on initially getting it out of the box, I had to set a dip switch inside the dome for Dish network. It will automatically find the satellites at 110, 119, and 129 locations. This means it is also suited for HD service from Dish network. When changing channels that requires a different satellite, it only takes about 5 seconds to make the switch.
It saves a lot of time in setup, and saves some storage space as well. Works great, and I highly recommend it.

5Love the WinegardFeb 02, 2010
By Robby Texas "Robby"
This dish works great. Just plug it in and boom!!! you get all of your satellite signals with no hassel. When you change from one satellite to the other it is seamless. I do however have a slight problem with the power cord not making a good connection. Most everytime I connect the power cord I have to wiggle the connector to get a connection. It is not a big problem and the satellite dish has worked everytime. Set up is easy and quick. I would recommend this product to all of my friends!!!

5Excellent reception, easy to set up and use.Jul 08, 2009
By Larry A. Priest "Compnut"
The first trip with the Carryout made me a believer. Just follow the instructions to the tee and in about 10 minutes you are watching your satellite TV. Seamlessly switches between satellites as you change channels with only about a second of delay.

Even in a marginal area I was able to get it to tune in with just a couple of position changes.

I really love this thing!!

If you're tired of yelling to your wife, "Do I have a signal yet?" and seemingly twist and turn the dish for hours to get a good signal this is worth saving your money for. Place it, connect it turn on the receiver, power up the unit and do a switch test. Within 10 minutes your inside watching TV.

5So easy to set up and use, even a cave man can do it!Apr 11, 2010

The Carryout Auto Satellite System GM 1518 is a great piece of equipment. Very easy to set up and use. I think its faster on satellite than our roof mounted auto unit. We have had to use it 3 out of 4 of our last campouts and have not found a single thing that I don't like about it. We have had several discussions with other users and have not heard a single complaint. We ordered it through an Amazon.com firm and they were very professional and quick with the delivery.

We have used the GM1518 tripod and highly recommend it

5Just hit the easy buttonAug 01, 2010

This unit worked very well. As talked about in some of the other reviews it does require a 12 volt source. I use it when I am on the road pulling my 5th wheel. All travel trailers have a 12 volt battery. I got one of those 3 in one 12 volt adapters from Wal- mart. The part(Male) that you would plug into the 12 volt aux I cut off and then connected the wire separating the Neg from the Pos then connected to my battery. Now all I have to do is open my battery compartment door and plug in to one of my three female outlets and your up and running
NO longer will I use a dish on a stand!
AS the add says just read the instructions and you are up and running.
I use Dish Network and I have found that after you do the check switch and the page comes up asking if you want to save (and you do) and I select save the same page comes up again, Just select save again then you will see the found satellites.

I would also suggest bringing a ladder with on trips. On one of my RV sites due to a very large RV parking next to me I had to put this on top of my 5th wheel to get my Dish back.
