Does the jobJun 11, 2008
By P. Martin I'm not sure why this is being reviewed so poorly. I found it to be exactly what it appears to be, a 1 1/2" flexible plastic hose kit that includes everything one needs to connect to a sump pump with a 1 1/2" outlet. I just installed one on an appropriate Taylor sump pump. It took ten minutes, required no trips to the hardware store, and works just fine. I will eventually replace it with more permanent PVC piping, but this hose was perfect to get me up and pumping ASAP.
Yes, the hose is relatively lightweight plastic, but it is plenty heavy for use with sump pump pressures. I never felt I was anywhere close to breaking it. I also think heavier plastic would compromise flexibility, making the hose harder to maneuver. My only suggestion to Taylor would be to also include a 1 1/4" fitting so this hose could be used with their smaller pumps too.

Good low-priced hoseFeb 21, 2007
By Michael K. Scogna So far, it is hold ing up to the 25,000 gallons that I have pumped.
It seems a little flimsy, especially at the point where it connects to the
pump I bought here also.

Bad investmentNov 29, 2007

This hose is made from an incredibly cheap plastic. was under the impression that it easily snapped apart in sections which is not the case. It actually broke when trying to install it -- would not recommend

Not compatible with the VIP50Jan 27, 2008
By J. Horn
"Handymanhorn"
Please be aware that this is a 1 and 1/2" hose and the VIP50 has a 1 and 1/4" outlet, so it will not fit (even though Amazon offers it under their "buy both" program).

Not an Exact MatchNov 17, 2011
By G. Alcindor

Amazon offered this hose under the buy both recommendation. While individually the VIP50 and this hose are great products, there is a fundamental flaw in the buy together offer by Amazon.
The discharge port on the pump is 1 and a 1/4 inches, the hose as offered is 1 and a 1/2 inches. Once i received my purchase, I then discovered I had to treck down to the local home depot to now buy pluming fitting to connect the two pieces together. That was an inconvenience I would have rather done without.
Notwithstanding the above, once connected, the unit as a whole works very well.
