I started with SV 9, then 10, and now 11. First, I am Sony's biggest fan. I own 3 sony video cameras, SV consumer and pro, and I promote Sony. But SVP 11 is the worst product I have ever used by sony. It is unstable, crashes whenever I use FXs and I can't even use the NEW Blue titler. If you don't save your work product every 3 seconds, you will lose your work. I am comitted to Sony, but I refuse to give them anymore money until they improve. I would not recommend this and I strongly encourage everyone to stay away from this. SVP 10 is Awesome! If you have it, stay with it!

The product is very nice and got many features but I would class it as alpha quality.
The amount of crashes is beyond bearable, you are SURE to get at least a crash every 15 minutes, doing any random action.
If you thought version 10 was bad, you have to witness how much more crash prone version 11 is, even with quite a high end system with every updated driver etc.
Now I am stuck with some projects converted to version 11, the software just won't let complete them, and I can't go back to version 10 unless using an old backup.

I own Sony Vegas Pro 9 - legal license! I love the features in Sony Vegas. Awesome product. Wide range of format support. Easy to edit. Powerful non-linear features, keying possibilities and more. EXCELLENT SUPPORT. I must give Sony support the credit for that.
However, all the time saved by having these powerful features is CANCELLED by the number of times this software freezes, hangs or simply bombs. This might happen due to the use of images sequences, different video formats in one project, velocity curves and much more.
This has reached the point where we are now moving to another editing package - simply to look for better stability.
Suffice to say that with all the problems, I'm not keen to upgrade to newer versions of the software.

My husband has been using Vegas Pro for many many years. The 2006 computer he had it on finally went to Sony heaven and he needed a new program able to be used on Windows 7 OS so I bought the Vegas Pro 11.0. My husband writes a lot of music, plays all the instruments, and produces the finished product on CDs/DVDs. For him, this system is the bomb! He has not encountered any crash problems (knock on wood)as others have noted. But to be fair, he has not used all the features of this program yet. He looks forward to another six + years of using Vegas Pro 11.0.

Vegas Pro 11.0 has great features that makes your home video look professional. Our children will have a life time enjoyment watching their stages growing up. Vegas Pro 11.0 is slightly better that Vegas pro 10.0 i guess technology improves from year to year.
