I have a windows 7 machine with 10gb ddr3,120gb SSD, i7 processor and Nvidia gtx550ti gpu. Pretty much top of the line. This software would be expected to run well and it does. Uploading from a video device is easy. It detected my Canon HD camcorder first crack. It allows you to upload the entire video in whatever format you want and as much of it as you want. Features abound and it will take you some time to get used to using all of them. If your'e coming over from the latest Windows Movie Maker re-introduced on Windows 7 which is terrible and too simplified, It uses a timeline like WMM 2.6 on Vista and basic effects like crossfades are easily rendered. Some of the other improvements over WMM are the ability to crop, pan and zoom within the clip. Easily add video from other sources and create as many audio and video, still layers you desire. All special effects such as lens flare, light beams, swirling (hope you don't actually use that one) can be proportioned and positioned easily within the frame and viewed in real time. Other things I like are the intelligent use of your screen. Effects panels detach, viewing windows can be stretched to better fit your display. Lots of features more than I have time to learn. I shoot most my HD video where the scenery is already spectacular San Francisco, so too many effects tend to look cheesy and superfluous. If you want basic editing software, are not a expecting to get Adobe Creative Suite X.X and that works well on W7, uploads from anything you connect and renders movies in ANY format NTSC, PAL, HD, Widescreen Standard, WS HD etc etc etc...... you will get more than you expect. The only thing this software is limited to is the power of your imagination and power of your PC. For this price it's a steal. BUY IT.

when i first opened this product i was a little bit uneasy becuase the 10.0 version of this didnt work for me but the 11.0 version works great. If your doing Gameplay vids using a HD PVR capture it under MP4 the other versions dont work with 11.0

I use an HD PVR to record gaming footage, and since I spent so much money on that, I didn't want to spend another $100 on editing software. This has been absolutely perfect. It doesn't come with all of the bells and whistles, but for what I want to do, it works amazingly. I know for a fact I'll get my money's worth out of this. The tutorials are easy to follow, so this product is very user friendly.
If you don't need all of the fancy stuff, this should be just fine for you.

I have been a video editor for well over 25 years starting with 2 inch tape and scissors moving on to the AVID ... AS a professional I loved the AVID system and found it to do the job as well as having an easy learning curve.. after I retired and sold all my NL systems I needed an inexpensive product to edit a radio program in MP3 that also would allow for video as well as file exchange with an editor in TEXAS who was doing my program for me this was list compatible as well as giving me all the tools I need to accomplish the job and present a professional product.. IF your looking for a good editing software package that gives you the tools and the ability to deliver in various formats as well as be compatible with the professional version this is it for $32.00 you can not go wrong.. it is very fast on a quad core machine and one you have the skill set it is easy to understand.. *)o(* no affiliation with SONY other then owning their equipment and software

I Just wished it had a Video Tutorial, had to do alot of detailed reading. I don't recommend it for fist time users...but overall pretty good software you just gotta have time and patience.
