Great when using spin techniqueSep 22, 2009
By lorsban I ordered these because the tip of my old throwing knife (Muela) snapped off. I use the quarter spin or no-spin technique, which, favored the Muela because it was 11 inches long or so and had a heavy blade.
These knives are around 8 inches and are shaped like a propeller. The handle is about the length of my forefinger - so I had some difficulty in using the no-spin method. I still use no-spin with these knives but I have trouble in longer distances.
If you're using the spin technique, you would be right at home with these knives. They seem to be designed for that purpose. Durability-wise, these seem solid enough. I have a wooden target and sometimes I get a bad hit where the knife bounces off and lands on concrete tip-first and they're still ok.
However, one of the knives was about .5-1 cm shorter than the other two. Not really a big deal, but that means their quality control may not be 100% spot on, so, just keep your eyes open for other defects.

Sturdy Starter Knives, Ugly SheathNov 27, 2010
By Killa Bee My first impression of this knife set was that of a typical man...awesome, cool, and badass. I couldn't wait to throw them. I should of waited because now they are scratched, dented, and bent. They are sturdy though; I'm just an idiot. They are not sharp out of the box, so they are good for perfecting your throw. The sheath is strong, but plastic and looks something similar to the holster that comes with the old western toy gear and cap guns. The weight makes these great for penetrating boards and walls, as well as boxes, dart boards, and plastic bottles.

Great gift for a teenagerOct 15, 2008
By Michael G. Lustig My 16 year old son loves these knives. Their shape gives them good balance and either end will stick into your target. The sheath is cheap leather and is virtually useless. The knives are solidly made from relatively soft steel (so the won't break). All thing considered, I'm happy with the value for the money spent.

Dull!Oct 07, 2011

These knives are toward the higher end of cheap chinese knives. Made of mid-grade stainless, they have a nice weight and rotation, and are a bit larger and heavier than the cheap-o swap meet kind. They come with an inexpensive sheath and have so far held up quite well, resisting dings and nicks.
On the down side-DULL AS HELL! I had thought my rotation was somehow off as I couldn't get them to stick, but then I realized they hit correctly and just fell out of the board. If you get these, be ready to spend some time sharpening them-I could press them into my palm with five pounds of pressure and not even have them break skin!.
In addition, some of these 5-star reviews are exactly the same for all Hibben knife products. Very suspicious!

Superb knives for a great priceMar 11, 2011
By Arobinson I bought these knives after a great deal of shopping around for my boyfriends birthday cause he is a hobby knife thrower. The reviews from other people stated the knives run on the heavy side and after throwing them for a while he did confirm they are a little on the heavy side, however the added weight make the stick better and more durable. They fly through the air and are very accurate. Very tastefully designed as well. The leather sheath that comes with it definately does not reflect the same quality as seen in these knives but it's fine till you find something you like better. Despite the way the picture looks, these knives are not double sided. The smaller end of the knife is quite a bit thicker for grip and has no edge to it. All in all fantastic trio of knives.
