Worth it for a variety of reasonsJan 30, 2011
By Hoelo First of all, don't buy this unit with the intention of allowing the viewing of DVDs while you are driving. This is illegal and insane (and I'm not just saying that as a legal disclaimer; moving video in the front seat is inevitably going to pull the driver's eyes from the road) so I'm not endorsing that.
That said, I highly recommend this product to make your life easier when installing a new stereo. My Alpine INA-W900BT is a great head unit, but when it comes to hooking up the foot and hand brake wiring, it is a bit of a pain. I am no car stereo guru by any stretch but drilling a hole in my firewall to route a brake detection wire? NO THANK YOU.
Not a whole lot else to say; this item simply does what it is supposed to do. Your head unit will think that the brake is always on, letting you access any functions you need to. In my case, I will be picking up another one for my other car as it is really annoying that my wife can't program the GPS while I am driving. Until the car manufacturers start adding some sort of passenger-detection override, items like this will be sorely necessary.

Excellent deviceFeb 21, 2011
By KMSM I used this to bypass the foot brake and parking brake signals for an Alpine INA-W900BT. Without this device, the only way to access the main setup menu is to set the parking brake, press down the foot brake and while holding the brake pedal down, release the parking brake and set it again, then release the foot brake. Seriously? That's insane. Wire this thingy in and you can access the setup menu any time. Perfect!

Did what it was supposed toSep 20, 2009
By R. Quinn Very easy to install and use. I used it for alpine video bypass for my, uhhh, "boat or RV". Comes preset to use for this function so all you have to do is hook up the wires. The only reason it's not a 5 star is that the video resets every time I restart my vehicle. That could be the head unit though.

use a switched pwr relay and do a switched ground instead of switched pwr for 5 bucksJan 02, 2012
By Sue Arkwright use a switched pwr relay and do a switched ground instead of switched pwr for. 1st buy a bosch relay. 2nd instead of wiring it as a switched power relay wire it as a switched ground. 3rd when the deck turns on then the relay creats a ground signal and then sends that signal to the deck and wala! the deck thinks the e brake is on, because when you set the e brake it grounds the circut. 1 pin grounds the e brake 1 pin goes to deck ( green wire for pioneer) 1 pin is jumped to another pin on relay 1 pin is grounded to car middle pin is not used on the relay
