Don't Stock Up!Jul 25, 2012

We have been using this tape for 10-15 years. In the last 3-4 years we have been getting defective dispensers(only 4 or 5 per year). When the dispensers work the product is great. Brother International only replaces defective cartridges for 90 days from purchase. Don't Stock Up!

Garden LabelsOct 26, 2011
By J. Denton
Bought this to use with my PT-2430-PC Brothers label maker. Printed labels for the metal stick in the ground plant markers and it has worked very well. I only use a couple inches for each marker so this 26' will last a looooong time! And talk about sticking quality, if for some reason I have to remove a label I have already attached to a marker, even if it's been outside in the weather for a long time, it is hard to get off!

Works well but EXPENSIVEOct 21, 2011
I use this tape for labeling CDRs and it holds up and stays on even in 48X CD drives.
However, it is expensive and it actually winds up costing about as much for the label as it does for a blank CDR disc.
Only occasional problem is that sometimes the scoring of the paper adhesive covering is not deep enough making it hard to remove.
The 25 mm of unused tape on every label seems excessively wasteful, but that is more a property of the Brother printer than the tape itself.

I love this tapeFeb 14, 2013

I really love using this tape to make labels. I discovered on Pinterest that you can use Washi Tape under this clear label tape to make cute, attention grabbing labels. My filing will never be the same again! The only reason it did not get 5 stars is not really the tape's fault but my label maker from Brother that always puts out an extra 1/2 inch of tape with every label made. You can not adjust the beginning margin to eliminate this waste and I think it just a sales technique to sell more tape. Not cool, Brother.

Revised ReviewNov 03, 2013
I was wrong in my original review, below; the TZe tape is not the same as the TZ tape except for the packaging (an assumption I made before opening the package). The cartridge is different but "compatible" (and harder to seat in my PT-1280). I bought two and both were defective. Even with pre-tensioning, the leader tape for the "ink" layer became stuck to the background layer inside the cartridge, rendering both cartridges useless right out of the box (there is no way to undo this). The TZe cartridge also does not have the molded arrow found on the TZ cartridges that shows you which way to turn the tensioner, a stupid oversight that could cause you to destroy your cartridges if you are not already familiar with which direction is correct. I would not mess with the TZe cartridges again to save a few cents each; sticking with the TZs.
The TZ/TZe labels are great. Just two specific comments:
* The TZ/TZe series labels are not intended for tight bends like labelling wires and will come unstuck. There is a more flexible series for that purpose (TZFX prefix).
* This is the first time I've encountered a "model number" change when the product, itself, is unchanged; unnecessarily confusing. The TZe tape is the TZ tape. The "e" refers only to the packaging, which went from a plastic clamshell to cardboard with a plastic bubble. Brother would have been much better off leaving the model number unchanged and just touting the green features of its revised packaging.
The new packaging is apparently cheaper to produce, so the TZe version can be found a little cheaper than the TZ. Since the tape is identical, there is no reason not to take advantage of the savings.
