I am a Network Admininstrator and this tool works better than more expensive models I have used. I have one at work and one at home. You can tune the sensitivity. Read the instructions for helpful how-to tips if you are unfamiliar with this type of tool. One person I loaned mine to (for tracing wires in their home) returned it to me and stated that it didn't work at all. After I showed them how to ground it differently (in the instructions by the way) they retried it and said it worked perfectly.

I have not tested it on a long run but in my initial tests when combined with adjusting the sensitivity control you can pinpoint exact wires in a bundle very easily. My only complain is that the casing feels cheap.

From the product description given on line, I expected a much better performance from this unit. It has helped someowhat in our renovation tracing some wires, but not able to really trace wires located behind the walls.

has srtong tone great feature to be able to change tone from other side to make sure you are on the right pair good lockout on off switch overall very happy with product
