This basket was a birthday gift to myself as I really wanted a cute, nice, old-fashioned looking wicker picnic basket. I am sorry to say that I was very sorely disappointed with this product.
The wicker itself seems decent and durable, but the basket is kind of heavy without anything in it, so be sure to have someone strong to carry it when it's full.
The leather straps that secure the plates in place on both sides arrived out of the box torn out from the walls of the basket. There is no way to fix them, and they are too flimsy to bother with trying to fix anyway. By the looks of the rest of the leather on the other areas for securing items and top flaps, I can see that this will happen again in the future. Thankfully, I work with leather, so I have scraps laying around that I can use to rework and replace the leather strapping to make it stronger. Consider yourselves warned about that; it IS going to fall apart.
One fork arrived badly stained within the protective plastic wrapping. I'm not sure with what, but it doesn't look very good. I hope I can clean it off.
The tablecloth is tiny and not suitable for picnic tables. It might cover a small bistro table, but not a picnic table. I'm going to use that for my little patio table on my deck and find another table cloth to take on picnics with. The napkins and table cloth are pretty cute otherwise.
The food compartments are pretty narrow to accommodate the wine compartments. This isn't a complaint, just a notice to those considering this review. If you like bringing tons of food, this would NOT be a good basket for that. Oh, and if you need to pack anything with liquid, pick tall, narrow, and very securely lidded containers and try to put them in one of the middle wine compartments so they stay upright.
The one thing I'm really pleased with on this thing is that the wine compartments are nice and roomy for either a bottle of wine or a fat waterbottle or Gatorade bottle.
All and all though, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, and certainly not at the price advertised.
