Bought this software to tranfer from a computer running Windows XP to a new computer running Window Vista. After spending days trying to get the transferred programs and data to run correctly, finally had to have the computer restored to its original configuration and use the Windows file transfer program that comes with the Vista OS. This is the worst software program I have ever bought. Customer service is terrible. A complete waste of money.

Thought it would be a great time saver. To some extent it was. It did transfer most of the files but some important ones it did not such as my Firefox settings and my EMail. Also several other programs did not transfer so I had a lot of work left to do to make the transfer complete. What was most disappointing is that it can only be used once. I have three boot drives which I interchange. One is for ordinary work, one is for media work, and one is for games so that the operating system doesn't get overloaded with programs. I wanted to use Transfer Your PC to transfer each of my boot drives but lo, it refused. I called the manufacturer and they told me the program was restricted to transferring one hard drive and that I would have to buy additional licenses. I complained that was not stated on the product box and that I should get a refund. I was told to call technical support and that I would be given an additional license number but when I did, I wasn't given one.

I have to echo everything that others have said. Most significantly--do not be under any illusions as to whether this miserable abortion of an application will transfer applications. It doesn't. Do not waste your time or effort. Use Laplink instead--I rescued a botched transfer using Transfer Your PC from XP to Vista with Laplink and recently did XP to Windows 7.

The included usb lap-link cable is USB 1.0 Took 21 hours to transfer my old XP system to a new system with Vista. Only 44 GB, but 21 hours!!! How cheap and underhanded for a current product to advertise the inclusion of a USB Xfer cable, but throw some "war-surplus" obsolete piece of junk in the box! If you buy this deceptive product, be prepared for an all-day transfer.
