It worked for me!Dec 05, 2010

I read many reviews about glass mount antennas and most of the reviews claimed the antennas did not work. I wanted an outside antenna for my scanner but did not want to drill holes in the wall or run the coax under a window. So I decided to try this glass mount antenna for myself. The antenna was easy to install and with just a little adjustment to the angle of the antenna it is working just fine. I now pick up all the talk groups I have programed into my scanner.

Its Pretty GoodJan 12, 2011
By PapaRock I purchased this monitor antenna for my police scanner that I have in my car. Easy to install (just make sure its out of the way of your windshield wipers - I found that out). Reception is pretty good. This is the second antenna of this type I purchased. Have one on the outside window of my "man cave" - reception is good in the room too. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to listen to whats going on via the scanner.

Good antennaFeb 08, 2010
By A Dotts No instructions included but it is very simple. Just wipe both sides of the glass and put the outside one on first because its easier to line it up from the inside. Then allign the perimeters of the two sides up and push it on for about 5 seconds to bond either of the two parts. Then screw in the cable and plug it in to the radio or scanner. Picks up a decent signal. I have to glue mine back on with glass glue because we had a huge snow storm and when i came outside it was pushed off from the snow. SO if its going to snow, unscrew the antennna to prevent it from getting pushed off.

Easy install/mounting and so far the adhesive to the window has stayed strong. No problems at all. Decent signal amplification. Definitely a great product for the price.

TRAM 1199 Glass Mt. All Band Scanner AntennaJun 27, 2011
By Keith P. Capsuto

I have an older Radio Shack all band scanner in my car that was of course made by Bearcat. I have tried hidden antenna's, magnet mount antenna's, splitters from my car stereo, etc. I found with another one of my scanners that some of these antenna's mentioned seem to work fairly well, however the scanner did not allow me to input the channels I wanted to hear, it would only search and use those channels.
I have found the TRAM 1199 very easy to install, and it seems to do a very good job overall. Some stations seem very strong others a little on the shallow side, but audible. I know that in my area many of the civil service radio band is being changed to digital as well as they are using one channel to speak on and other to retrieve on, so this could be some of the reasoning behind the weaker-shallow transmission.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this Antenna to anybody who is a scanner lover. There we no directions in my package, but as I mentioned earlier the installation was extremely easy. Just remember not to use a sharp tool when tucking the antenna wire under your car/truck molding.
