Bright Color- Lasts...Oct 09, 2010
By PhAzEr DaZeR I bought this to use on my black and white chihuahua The color is really bright and thats what I was going for. I was able to dye her fairly easily, it was kind of hard to do on her face- I was dying all of her white fur and around her nose and mouth is white- She kept trying to lick it off, so I rinse it out faster than the rest of her but still the color is pretty good I added a picture of her pink I think she looks adorable :) The color lasts quite awhile also, about 2 months or so, slowly fades with each wash Also the jar lasts quite awhile as well. I have been able to dye her white fur at least 2 dozen times (she is small and not too much white and you can see in the pictures)

Been using this for years, recommend it!Jan 24, 2012

Look, dying anything in these colors is going to be a bit messy. I used to pay $80 to get my dog dyed every 3 or 4 months. Now I can do it myself at home for a fraction of the cost. It lasts a few months for me if you include the fading time. I go with a bright pink and in the end, it is bubble gum pink. All pretty. My dog is black and white so the white takes and it looks fantastic. I don't follow instructions exactly. I wash in the laundry tub for her regular bath time, MASSAGE (happy dog) the dye on (I wear disposable latex gloves), leave for 5 mins while she sits quietly in warm garage/tub, rinse and MASSAGE IN a leave-in conditioner. Best tip I can give you to make it easier on the dog - give treats off and on through out the process. Just little bits of something to make it worth their while. Everyone loves seeing her, grumpy people brighten up, she's in photo albums all over the world. I did it once on a lark but she is such an ambassador for happiness with the color that I have continued for years now. I forget what she looks like w/o color. If the process isn't fun for you, the dog will pick up on that and it won't be fun for anyone. Make it fun or skip it. Of course the dog shouldn't suffer. So for clean up, what's the big deal? It's clean up, did you expect not to? I use bleach (after the dog is out of the area (don't want her to breathe fumes) or a scrubbing cleaner with bleach. It comes out fine. Sometimes I even do it in my marble shower - again, a little scrubbing (not bleach) and it comes out fine. Anyway, love the product and will continue to buy it. If you hate the process, groomers will do it for you. If you want less permanent, use the easter egg dye (food grade, non toxic) and it will wash out in the first or second washing. Or skip it completely and go for a walk.

Great on light colored dogsFeb 13, 2010

I bought this to dye my Shih Tzu. Works great on the white areas but fades out quickly. Also very very messy and dyes your tub. I had to use straight bleach to remove it from the tub surface.

Not as good as they sayJun 23, 2011
By Petlover This product worked but I did not like that it says "comes out after four washes." That is NOT true! I've washed my dog literally 10 times and it's still there! It will fade A little, but does not go away like the bottle says. I will never use this again.

Bright and Easy to UseJan 16, 2011
By Allison Rutherford This item was easy to apply, because it's a gel; the color is very vivid (the longer you leave it in the brighter it gets); and the color lasts for quite a few weeks and slowly fades afterwards. Another plus for this item is that it doesn't have any chemical smell, as it is safe for pets.
