save your $ - don't buy this!Oct 07, 2008
By Caring Mama I was delighted when I saw this cup - it had a sleek design and was BPA free. So, I decided to cough up the $17 PER cup and spent almost $40 for two cups (Excluding shipping!). It has been a huge disappointment. The cups leak and I have to wrap a paper towel around the lid everytime we use it. I am going to toss these out soon as I get new ones. I rarely give reviews, and when I do, its because I really feel compelled to. Please save yourself the cash and invest in a BPA-free cup from another manufacturer that works.

Love these, NO LEAKSNov 16, 2008

Not sure why others are having problems but these don't leak at all for us.
You do have to make sure the o-ring is seated properly in the cap (ours arrived dislodged), that the spout is snapped into the lid until it clicks, and that the soft silicone valve inside is pushed firmly into the lid. (But only the last gets removed for washing.) Overall I find these easier to use/clean than our other types, they keep liquids colder, and they NEVER leak -- unless my son is pounding them hard on the floor upside down...

Great SippySep 17, 2008
By A. Dell I have not had any of the problems described by the other reviewer. My son loves this sippy cup, and has no problem drinking out of it. The only problem I have had is that, when shaken vigorously, some water will fly out. But that is not a big issue for me, and it does not leak if tipped over on the floor. I really like the protective sleeve, so far it has prevented the sippy from getting dings and dents. We have also tried Born Free, Klean Kanteen, and Nuby sippy cups. This is by far my sons favorite!

Too hard to drink out of - unusable!Sep 04, 2008
By B. Anderson I bought this item because I was looking for a BPA and phthalate-free sippy cup that had a narrow sipper valve - my 1 year-old seems to prefer narrower valves over the wider ones available (that are BPA and phthalate-free). I wasn't happy about the high price, but because I found few alternatives, I was willing to try it. Even though she puts anything within reach in her mouth, she consistently refused this cup. So, I decided to try it myself. It is almost *impossible* to drink out of. It took a lot of suction to get any draw, and then I choked on the air I had sucked into my throat! As a comparison, I tried a different cup with a wider sipper valve, it was much better. So, I agree with my daughter that this is too difficult to use. It's a shame, because there is a need for good, safe sippy cups. I am attempting to get a refund from the company. I will provide updates upon its resolution.

A Great Non-plastic Option!Oct 16, 2008
By Alistair's Mum After a lot of searching, I bought the Klean Kanteen for my son, but it leaked WAY too much (from the Avent spout). I then tried the Safe Sippy, and we are very pleased with it! It does not leak much at all (you have to make sure the little rubbery ring is inserted correctly or will leak all over--you have to put it in with the flatter side out, too). My son tends to shake his sippy, so we get some drops of liquid here and there, but that's going to happen with almost any sippy that is shaken. My son doesn't seem to have any difficulty at all getting the liquid out as some reviewers have mentioned.
There are a couple things I don't like about it:
First, if my son vigorously shakes it (we're working on getting him not to do this), the valve sometimes slips out, which means the milk just dumps out of the spout. This doesn't happen very often, though.
Also, the directions say that you can wash this without removing the sleeve from the bottom. I don't put it in the dishwasher, so I don't know if doing that would make a difference, but I find I have to remove the sleeve and wash inside it every now and then. It is a little difficult to get back on.
Other than that, we are very happy with this sippy. I love it that my son's milk stays cold too!
