LOVE IT!! Daughter's FAVORITE!!Feb 24, 2010 This cup is my 3.5 year old daughter's ABSOLUTE FAVORITE cup, and has been so for over a year. I love that it is stainless steel with no bad plastic stuff to worry about and it does NOT leak! We do not go anywhere without our "blue cup" (as my daughter calls it) filled with water. I highly recommend this cup. The only time it ever leaks has been on occasion when, after the cup has taken a fall, the no spill thing has fallen out inside the cup.
It is also very durable- it goes with us everywhere and gets dropped a lot, but has held up extremely well!! And it is very easy to clean (the green rubber part on the outside comes off) and all of the parts can be thrown in the dishwasher (we have to hand wash it b/c my daughter will not go without it long enough to fill and run the dishwasher). It really is not hard to get the green cover on and off, contrary to what at least one reviewer has said. It is a great, durable, leak-proof, BPA Free cup and I would highly recommend it!! We have absolutely gotten our money's worth from this cup!!
Love it!Nov 15, 2009 I was surprised to see all the bad reviews. I've tried several sippy cups including klean kanteen, sigg, and foogo and this is the only one my 12 month old can use on his own. He loves it, so I love it. In general stainless steel cups tend to be a bit heavy or lack handles, but this one has handles and a straw attachment so he doesn't need to hold it up to drink. Works great. It does leak if turned upside down and often leaks into the cap when I put it in the diaper bag. I just use it for water so it's not a problem for me, but if leaking is a big concern you should probably look for an alternative.
Very, VERY disappointedOct 08, 2009 I had been looking for a nice, sturdy sippy that would hold up to my 1-year-old's bad habit of throwing his cups from his crib. I'm also BPA conscious, so this seemed like a good choice. I mean, it's hard to crack stainless steel, right?
I purchased a blue one from BabiesRUs for about $12 or so. For the first couple uses this thing worked fine. Then I noticed that the little ring gasket kept coming out. I looked up info on the Safe Sippy's website FAQ page. I read the careful instructions on how to put it in place and I tried several times to insert it correctly. It still kept coming loose! Then I experimented with handwashing and putting it in the dishwasher and discovered that if I handwashed it AND let it air dry, then the gasket stayed in place fine. First problem was solved, but a little bit of a pain to have to handwash it and wait for it to air dry.
A few uses after I got that problem fixed the stupid valve started coming out of the spout and caused the cup to leak everywhere. I again thought that the handwash/air dry combo would keep it in place but alas, IT NEVER HAS. I have stupidly put this cup back in my cabinet several times and forgot the frustration of the leaking after a week or two went by of not using it.
Most recently, dumb me decided to bring it along to the library and I put it in a bag with some books. A little while later I'm sure you can imagine how totally ridiculous I felt as I was in the middle of the children's section with, literally, a PUDDLE of milk at my feet and a steady stream of it coming from my bag. The DUMB VALVE FELL OUT AGAIN!!!! The cup had only been in use for about an hour!!! UGHHH!!! I HATE THIS CUP! I'm throwing it away and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Please don't waste your money!
Wheeew. There. I feel better now.
The BEST sippy ever!Aug 19, 2009 I have bought every BPA free, stainless steel, aluminum, you name it sippy cup out there, and this one is the best. Doesn't leak, doesn't dent. My kids love these cups!
Very Good SippyAug 14, 2009 I like this sippy! I like that it has a different look. It is easy for my 15 month old son to use. I have noticed it does leak once in a while but it is usually if my son leaves it tipped on its side or tosses is down, etc. and from all reviews I have read (on all sippy cups) they all do tend to leak to some extent. You have to make sure the ring is in place on the inside as it tends to slip out after cleanings. it does seem to keep things cold for quite a while. I would recommend it.
