Not your father's eJay, (but that's a good thing)Aug 28, 2009

This is nothing like the previous versions of eJay, where you would string loops together to make a "song". You can still use loops, but for the most part, it's similar to other song creation studios. Sound quality is good, not outstanding, like Propellerhead Reason 5 for example.
The sample clips included with this are so cheesy as to be nearly useless, as they are - I used them as a starting point for inserting instruments. However, the creation and editing tools are the best I've ever tried with any music creation software, at any price level - they're extremely easy and fun to use. Plus you can create your own synths and sound clips to use over and edit.. so composing original songs is a blast!
It's possible to make some great electronic music with Techno 5 (and a fair amount of practice). I recommend you install the ASPI drivers and burn to CD-R through the program to get the best results. (and don't turn your edit tracks down too low). My copy runs on an average Windows XP machine with DirextX 9.0c (ASPI and DirextX 9.0c are both included on the install disk).
Oh and did I mention, it's extremely cheap? Recommended for anyone at the hobby level of music production, or a pro wanting to bang out some (really) quick ideas.
