 Absolutely TERRIBLE productAug 24, 2009

This has to be the worst hardshell case I've ever purchased for my MacBook Pro. The unit I received was hazy and scratched already even with the packaging film still on. The edges of the plastic were sharp and unpolished with an uneven border along the back side. The plastic is THICK, and adds a lot of bulk to the laptop. Worst of all, the vent ports on the underside of the MacBook Pro are covered by this case. For some strange reason they decided they did not need to put vent holes underneath. What?!! Why risk making your CPU hotter than what it needs to be, not to mention making it insanely hot to the touch when using it on your lap. I'm sending this back today for a refund. I'm going back to Speck.

...and well worth it! It comes close to a 5-star rating w/the exception of a thin piece of plastic that is above the CD slot, that I just know I'll eventually break since it's not much thicker than a toothpick! I do wish it was available in a matte instead of gloss finish, which shows every fingerprint and mark imaginable. Also, $60 is a lot for nothing more than molded plastic. I do however, like the color ( I chose black, my favorite hue) and the fact that the makers name isn't boldly displayed in raised neon colors on the top, but rather subtly underneath.
Trust me when I say I've done the research. If you're a neurotic perfectionist and aesthetics are important to you, look no further. This will keep your MacbookPro protected and looking good.

the shell is about 3 inches bigger than my macbook pro and my mac is the 17 inch one is a big as they get rubble check the size before you order this one
