Once a good product, been going downhill for yearsJan 22, 2011
By Maine Dreaming I've used System Suite, versions 5-8.
I wasn't convinced that 8 was an improvement over 7 and had read poor review of 9 and 10. So I never tried 9 and 10.
Bought and installed 11, despite the fact that I planned to continue using another co's virus/malware/firewall suite and another company's degragger.
11 is a disaster on one of my Vista OS computer. I won't try it on any other machine.
On the Vista OS, I received messages that I should uninstall my Kaspersky software for System Suite to work properly--despite the fact that I wasn't planning to install the firewall/antivirus components of System Suite.
Then, when using the Registry fixer component of System Suite, it repeatedly found over 100 "problems" on my computer, then would either fail to fix the problems or allow me to "block" them.
I uninstalled this junk and will be requesting a refund.

Dangerously BadDec 28, 2010
By Honest Opinion System Suite 11 is basically the same as System Suite 10. The only differences are that System Suite 11 has a slightly different user interface, and they removed the ZIP file functionality. Any claim that System Suite 11 uses less resources than 10 is completely false because testing shows it is the still same program and still uses the Vipre AntiVirus from Sunbelt, which has not been independently reviewed by AV-Test.org labs.
However, one important difference is that Vipre allows you to manually download updates. System Suite 11 only allows antivirus and program updates via the program's automatic updater. But in order for the updater to work, you MUST register. Registration requires loads of dangerously personal information which most people would be too frightened to provide (your phone number is REQUIRED, as is your home address). Unsubscribing from the Avanquest mailing list is impossible - as others have noted, once you give Avanquest your email address, you will have a rabid pen-pal for life.
Other than that, you get the same enthusiastically buggy software from Avanquest as System Suite 10. As usual, after two years Avanquest will gladly discontinue your antivirus subscription without notice and insist that you upgrade.
This is basically the same disappointment as System Suite 10, so just go to that page and look at the reviews to judge how unuseful this product really is.

SS11 ExperiencesFeb 14, 2011
By revjho Have been using System Suite since version 6. In the past I was very pleased with it. I have been uncomfortable since they switched their anti-virus provider to Sunbelt Software a few years ago, as I have never seen Sunbelt AV products rated and compared with other AV software. (System Suite used to use Kaspersky, as I recall.) Generally had no problems until Version 10, when after an update of the product the Registry Fixer and File Cleaner could no longer fully clean or fix problems and Recover Commander could not recover to an earlier state.
My experience over the last several days using SS11 with a new install of Win 7 (64 bit) continues to raise concern. I disabled Recovery Commander at set-up because of previous experience with the annoying delays it causes when installing programs. The Registry Fixer initially found 111 registry errors after a clean Windows install (that is, only Windows, critical updates, and hardware drivers installed, no programs.) After attempting to fix the errors it found, it said it could not fix 71 errors. Win 7 shutdown took much longer. After using the "One Click Fix-All" and other maintenance and optimization functions, SS11 still would not indicate the computer was at top efficiency with an overall rating of 90% and a maintenance rating of 81%. It also labels ad-tracking cookies as Threats, as if they were a virus. It says the Memory needs optimizing every time I turn on the computer.
Overall, System Suite 11 has many good utilities, not all of which perform as they should. The anti-virus component is of unknown quality. I would prefer if the System Utilities would be separated from the AV part and be a stand-alone product, but even Avanquest Fix-It Utilities comes with the AV component. (Possibly a marketing ploy as the AV subscriptions need to be renewed yearly, or the latest Suite version purchased -- a means of generating revenue.) So, I am now looking at removing SS11 (easy to do if you save system images) and installing a different utility suite with a separate AV program.

Stear clear of AvanquestOct 10, 2011
By Les Manse Besides trashing my OS a while back, and requiring a fresh install, once these idiots get your email address, you CAN NOT un-subscribe. They are relentless. I wouldn't use their products if I were paid to do so.

Tech support not reliable!Aug 23, 2011
By Pat Crowl I have been a user of System Suite for years. I have begun to doubt its usefulness in the past few years but hard to change old habits. I received an offer for a newer version at a good price. I wrote their support and said I had 6 months left on my current subscription. I asked if it was like a magazine subcription and if I renewed, it would be added on my my current subscription. I was told yes so I bought it again. Well, a year later, my subscription is expired! I saved the email and sent it to support showing what I had been told. Their reply? "Sorry. You were given bad advice." That was it! So its time to find a company that appreciates it's customers.
