TRANSFORMER XIApr 17, 2009
By Gerald Goll I purchased the product. This is a multi-tool key ring with a fundamental design flaw.
Unfortunately when you open the screwdriver set which flips up - it automatically pops off the key ring. I did this about 4 times before I figured out why that was happening. There are no directions and it appears you cannot stop this from happening.
Apparently this is part of the "quick release" key ring feature. However its much harder to put the key ring on the tool than pop it off, which occurs every time you open it. Hence rendering the tool unfit for the purpose intended.

BEWARE: Chrome Plated ABSJan 22, 2011

"Black Suit Jaik"
I ordered this from another website, that is a different matter. These websites don't make the product, it's made by Swiss+Tech.
The packaging makes no mention of the "Chrome-Plated-ABS." Neither does amazon.com. Nor did the website that I ordered it from. The packaging actually says "Solid Stainless Steel!*" and has no explanation for the asterisk. I read it on the Swiss+tech website, and they mentioned it once, in a caption for the photo of the product, cleverly putting Stainless Steel Assembly right in front of the Chrome-Plated-ABS.
I have ordered a few diferent items from Swiss+Tech, and have been impressed with the overall quality and function. This one changed my opinion. It is a stainless steel tool. Well half of it is. The other half is cheap chrome plated plastic. It feels heavy from the steel, but I'm almost sure if I drop my keys, it will shatter the plastic, which makes this keychain tool something that stays in a toolbox now. I'll be sure to use caution in ordering Swiss+tech products again.

Not what I thought it would beJan 25, 2012
By hard2please Usually I like the Swiss+Tech products and I own several of them. Because of this I ordered the Transformer on impulse and combined it with a couple other things to make Amazon's $25 min for free shipping! I had no compelling reason other than I thought I may use it as a key ring for my motorcycle. In the Swiss+Tech world this is a gargantuan tool. I inferred since it's a "keychain multitool" it would easily fit in my pants pocket; a tool belt pocket is more like it. I don't care for the overall construction (metal & plastic)- it just doesn't feel as sturdy; admittedly I have not put it through any rigors yet albeit I'd be reserved for fear of it breaking. I can't really knock these guys though because I do like so many of their other products but this one in particular is on a different (larger) scale altogether. I'll stick with their relativey tiny, all metal gadgets.

By HTrikaya You never know when you'll need it. Good product and very compact that it will fit just about anywhere and a flashlight too.

not solidDec 28, 2011
By Nachele The way it opens + the plastic parts* make it not solid at all. Nice if you keep it closed most of the time.
If you use it as keychain, be careful when you open it, as your keys will separate from it immediately.
*If it was all made of metal, it would not suit the use as keychain due to its weight
