Sugar Plum fairy stocking!Jan 19, 2011
By Jo I am so proud of this stocking! I had never done one before and it took me MANY MANY MANY hours to complete. I worked on it every spare moment and VERY late into the night for about 3 weeks. I do not have awesome sewing skills and had never done any kind of embroidery before so that could be why it took so long. However, if i could do it then i'm pretty sure anyone else could. I made it for my 3yr old daughter because she loves to dance and it was the only stocking i could find that was really girly and christmasy at the same time. Because of my lack of experience with sewing and embroidering, the intructions were a little hard for me at times but i figured it out(actually I asked my husband). This might be embarrassing, but i also had to look up how to do some of the stitchs on u tube. I wanted the stocking to be absolutely perfect. i'm sure there are many other stocking kits out there that would have been much easier for a first timer, but this one is just so darling that i couldn't settle for anything else. plus my daughter LOVES IT! So if you really put a lot of heart and time into it you wont be disappointed!

Very cute but time consuming!!Dec 18, 2009
By Katrina Bradley This is my first stocking, I'm working on it now for my daughter. It's quite involved but will be worth it, it is so cute! The felt is thick but I want it to last for years and years so I'm going to sew it onto a fabric stocking I will make using the back as a pattern. I don't think the felt would hold up to many years of Santa leaving lots of goodies in it. Still, very happy with my purchase, I would recommend this kit to anyone up to a sewing challenge.

I made this stocking for my granddaughter, Ava for her first Christmas. I have made nine Bucilla Christmas stockings and this one took more time that the rest but was well worth it. It is perfect for a little girl.

Will never do another oneJun 25, 2009

I have made many, many stockings and this one was the worst. The face is small and needs to be pre printed so that no embroidery is necessary on it. Very hard to get the mouth right. I will never make another one of these. I have always been very good at embroidery but this was difficult. I was so sick of it by the time I got it finished it wasn't even pretty. Hope you have better luck with it than I had.

i have to say i loved this stocking. I have made many of these project and i agree the face was a little time consuming, it was what you should a expect for a craft like this. I have a 4 year old daughter who loves pink and dancing so when she saw me making this she was extremely excited and i have to say the little girl in me loves it too. Lol. Here's a hint though, if you don't want to get embroider the face simply get colored fine tip pens and trace it and add the blush, i did for my sister's daughters one and it turned out just as good.
