Recorder OK, but customer service stinks!Dec 20, 2005
By S. Levario
"Sam"
It does the typical DVD-R features. Called Customer Service twice for help with a recording error. They gave me incorrect information both times and said that I'd have to live with it. The second time I asked to speak with a supervisor waited 20 minutes then gave up!

Avoid this MonsterDec 24, 2008
By Occult I was excited by the various features, but was disappointed by what I received.
Pros: It can record up to 6 hours on one DVD. It has multiple inputs, so you can record from VCR, TV, CamCorder, etc.
Cons: This thing makes Coasters like you wouldn't believe. I don't use cheap discs. I had Sony discs, Memorex discs. Kept getting coasters. You'll know you're in trouble when you come home and find the screen blinking "HELLO." When you see that, your show hasn't taped. What's worse, EVERYTHING you have already put on that disc will "vanish". The only way to get the machine to stop blinking "HELLO" is to unplug it. NOTHING else works to get it to stop blinking.
More Cons: It's hard to read the menu because of the background. The remote has too many buttons for its size. The clock loses time daily.
To Sum up: If you need a DVD Recorder in name only, this is for you. If you care about being able to watch the shows you record. If you dislike coasters. If you don't like resetting the clock daily. You should avoid this machine like the plague.

Don't buy this unit.Jul 16, 2007
By J. Boyer Save yourself some money and buy something more expensive than this unit. I thought when I bought this that they could not screw up a dvd recorder..but they did. -Restricted to dvd+r/+rw media -Programs on a 24 hour clock not am/pm -Loses programmed channels and skips over some standard 2-13 channels when programming -Need to reprogram the time almost daily because of a slow internal clock

Maybe i got luckyJan 31, 2009
By Jose Marval I see many bad reviews about this dvd recorder, but so far, i've had NONE of the problems others have.
I use this recorder to transfer the mini dv videos from my camcorder to dvd. There's no loss in video quality when you use standard quality. Hasn't skipped or failed. Never.
The only problem i ever had was once, when i transfered a 2 hour video to a RW dvd, and had some sort of small "interference" in 2 parts of the video. As if the recording input would have been an antenna.
Seeing all these bad reviews i wouldn't recommend it. But from my experience, i think it's not so bad.

Adequate recorder, no customer supportFeb 15, 2012
By Hollywood Hack After wrecking about five dvds I finally got the thing to work. The menu sometimes freezes, won't switch off or eject the disk. If you use compatible DVDs it will sometimes perform up the level of brand name products. Two stars for closing the customer service office, going bankrupt and ignoring BBB complaints about this manufacturer.
