It works, but durability can be an issueFeb 17, 2011
By John Uhl I bought this product prior to Officer Candidate School 3 years ago. It worked great though over time (6 months) the hinges began to wear. Eventually they broke and the lid would no longer stay shut and it had to be replaced. In future I will purchase a soap holder with a slide on top and not one that is hinged (of course, my dad bought a hinged design exactly like this one back in the 1970s when he was a junior officer and it still works to this day).
Coghlan's Soap HolderApr 20, 2011
By ron What a waste of money, I wanted the soap holder with a rope. I could have bought this trash at the dollar tree @ 3/$1.00

Case cheap and brittle, NON-recyclable plasticJul 31, 2010
By Madelyn This case seems brittle, like the plastic hinges would break after regular use. I was also greatly disappointed to see that the plastic is non-recyclable. This day and age it's really not acceptable for companies to be using plastic that is completely non-recyclable - especially in a product that is guaranteed to be thrown away after only moderate use. We purchased this locally but will be returning it and looking for a product that is made of recyclable plastic so that when we are done with it it can be turned into something else.
I simply can't support "outdoor" and travel companies that aren't producing more sustainable gear anymore - ESPECIALLY when it's so cheaply made.
