Silly Putty!Jul 13, 2009

I bought this for my kids because we were taking a long trip to the adirondacks. They loved playing with it and making shapes. It almost no mess because it stayed in one piece, unlike play doh and other things like it.

Our pre-K kids were sitting at a table playing with a glob of this putty. It somehow wound up on the rug under the table and has been impossible to remove. Some of it stuck to my child's clothing and wound up in his bed. We found it later but it had stuck to (and ruined) a sheet and pillowcase. Finally, some of it stuck in our dog's fur and was also impossible to remove. We tried soaking her in a bath of warm water and soap and made no dent in the glob. Finally we googled information on how to remove the stuff and found that using hand sanitizer could help break up the putty. After trying to get the stuff out of our dog's fur for about an hour, I was able to make a small dent in the glob but a huge mess. There is still putty in her fur! I can't imagine what a nightmare this would be if it had gotten in the kids' hair!!
Fun Twist on Classic Toy!Mar 31, 2011
By E. Kennedy I've always loved Silly Putty and enjoy the new colors. Fluorescent makes the egg easy to find in a drawer or toy chest which is nice. Great gift for kids (I'd say 3 and up, but like everything it depends on your kid) or adults! Makes a fun stocking stuffer, road trip toy, or party favor!

Leave Silly Putty aloneJun 26, 2007
By D. Martin Thought neat idea for grandkids. 6 year old granddaugher sat down on ball she had made from silly putty to mash it flat. Made terrible mess, would not come off top nor couch. Had no idea damage it would do
