I bought the GunVault security cable to attach to a GunVault that was not going to be bolted to the floor but needed to be secured. The cable attaches on the side of the GunVault and is secured with a nut on the inside. While tightening the nut on the inside the entire bolt sheered right off. Leave it to cheap Chinese steel. I bought a second one and took it easier on the tightening. As another reviewer stated, it will not stop the most determined theif but it will at least slow them down. I would still recommend the product as OK and probably the best you can do unless you make something yourself.

Not much security. Will keep your kids from runnig off with the vault if they are not to big. When I received I saw how it worked and went to hardware store and purchadsed six feet of 1/4 inch cable, hardened bolt and nuts and pound-on cable ends. Makes a much more sucure cable lock.

It was smaller in diameter than I thought it would be. It won't keep a determined thief from getting your safe if he has some wire cutters, but it will keep unauthorized people (like kids) from moving or taking your safe. That by itself makes it a must have.

I have a gunvault NV300 and needed to secure it in the trunk of my car. I bought this cable and it fit perfectly. It seemed a little flimsy so I decided to give it a test. I took the gunvalut with the cable and acted like a car thief ... I yanked on it. With very little effort the NV300 was stripped right off the cable (the attachment piece completely failed and came off) and I could have taken off with whatever valuables I had in the safe. Very very very disappointed. I had to go to Home Depot and have a cable made that would not come apart.
This is a complete piece of junk. Don't waste your money. If this were an off-manufactured product I would understand but this is manufactured by GunVault themselves. They should be ashamed to market this. It is so bad I wonder if they would actually be legally liable for a theft since it protects NOTHING.

I like the vault for my vehicle. Fast key pads. The cord is a little light weight but it will do. My biggest problem was it took me over an hour of pounding with a nail punch to get the hole punched for the cable. I pounded and pounded and the dimple eventually gave way but I had to keep driving the nail punch until there was room for bolt. Anyway, I wish it was a cleaner and simpler punch out.
