Pretty good baby monitorDec 12, 2011
By bookreader Initially after some frustration trying to figure out the volume sensitivity and temperature alarm triggers, this is a more than adequate baby monitor. Not having used any others yet, I have nothing to compare to. The cameras have a nice solid base, and if you're handy you can mount them to a wall. The monitor portion has very simple controls and the menu is very simple. Perhaps a little too simple? Some of the functions seem sort of useless...there is a zoom option, but it only provides one super zoomed in picture. So for instance, if I can see my baby's head and torso...if I zoom in it'll zoom into part of her face. I can't really control which part it's zoomed into. Once you are zoomed in you can pan around a little to try and center your object or baby...but it's very limited and you can't pan much at all. The temperature sensor seems to be off by about 10deg...and I don't know how calibrate it. If we don't turn the volume sensitivity alarm completely off, it alarms to every single noise in the room, which got very annoying. Once all the bugs were figured out, it's been very functional...the night vision is excellent, the mic is very good. You can also talk through the monitor if your baby calms to your voice, although your voice will be so distorted I don't know if it's more frightening than calming to hear it. It can also play a few lullabies, but the sound is so bad it sounds like a tortured beat up music box. The monitor is big enough to be able to have a decent picture, especially in day light, but it's a little awkward to hold by hand. It does have a nice little pop out stand that you can prop it on a table top. Being able to pair up one monitor to up to 4 cameras is a nice function...however, if paired to more than one camera, it keeps cycling the view from camera to camera. I cannot just keep the picture to one camera, so then I have to go turn off the other camera and turn the monitor on and off. It's supposed to be able to unpair remotely, but so far that hasn't worked.
Not sure if I would buy this monitor again...not so much that we're that unhappy with it, but am curious if a better one is out there. Price was reasonable however compared to other baby monitors we looked at and seems like it is very good for a monitor under $200.

Good camera. Temperature sensor faultyNov 08, 2011
By Boris The camera of great quality. The temperature sensor never worked right - consistently showing about 10-15F higher than it actually was. If you are considering the second camera for SEW-3030 it pairs with the monitor flawlessly and effortlessly.
Excellent monitor systemOct 12, 2011
By D. M. Kuhn After reading lots of reviews, got this one. Has been great from the beginning. Easy to set up. Monitor and camera worked seamlessly. Added second camera without trouble, tho would be nice if there was a way to leave BOTH cameras one but only view ONE (it cycles between the on ones). Controls easy, volume fine, and range great. Would recommend.
