Beautifully crafted, heavy, well balancedNov 08, 2010
By A. Duclos The sword arrived wonderfully packaged so as to prevent damage. I'd caution that even though it has a black plastic nub near the tip to prevent you nicking yourself on the sharp tip; it might slide down in transit and still have a tiny sharp bit sticking out so watch out!
I've already been balancing the sword and it feel wonderful. It is heavy but balanced in a great nearly-centered space on the sword. It doesn't tip back or forward on it's edge; staying firmly in place as I move. I haven't even had to mark the bottom edge for the center.
The edge is blunted on both sides though it does look sharpened for that nice look while dancing. Again, though, the tip is rather sharp.
The sword is heavy so might take time to get used to but overall I am incredibly please with it and look forward to many years of use.
The one small downside is that it arrives wrapped in a bit of plastic wrap that sticks to the oiled sword. The oil might get on your hands so I'd suggest having a paper towel or other clean rag on hand when you unwrap it.

Well CraftedMay 23, 2011
By N8 First of all, this product arrived extremely fast for me. Not only was it here in 2 days, but I had chosen the 5-8 day free super saver shipping. It arrived, as mentioned by the other reviewer, wrapped in oil to keep it from rusting. Nothing a little wiping can't fix.
Secondly just let me say that this is probably the most well crafted sword in my collection thus far. The overall look of the sword is very pleasing. I stumbled upon this after watching an episode of "Deadliest Warrior" in which Vlad the Impaler used it, but on the show they referred to it as a "Kilij". It is very heavy and sturdy, one of my little urks when I buy a sword is when you shake it, you can hear the blade rattling around in the handle. This item, however, does not have that. The blade is very nice on the eyes, but isn't so shiny that every single fingerprint shows up on it. It also does not have that annoying "Made in Pakistan" marking burnt into it like so many other swords do. The brass on the handle is very polish and gleaming, and the hawk head pommel just adds to the culture of the sword. The handle also has a thin piece of leather stretched over it, which is a nice accent in my opinion.
Overall this sword is definitely worth the price and will not disappoint you. What you see is what you get.
