I bought this for my peace officer (8+ years) duties but found this to be more a danger than help.
The Saunders Recycled Aluminum Cruiser-Mate 21017 has the following problems.
- All of its edges are knife cutting sharp. Including its self-locking latches & clip/latch.
- Every corner is spear sharp.
- Poor workmanship & quality control. Crooked parts & alignment.
- Low quality pads on bottom that may absorb unwanted fluids. Most likely they will only last a few weeks and leave an ugly mess on the bottom.
- Clip Board top/lid extends about a 1/8 inch out on all of the edges so it may get caught on objects & allows for accidental opening of the storage & bending/damage to the lid.
- Clip springs are overpowered. Clip edge affords little grip & too slick plus it cuts objects.
- I.D. holder is too tight. Also its too slick, pushing objects out, and the springs get in they way of placing an item.
- The self-locking latches are too easy to open but too difficult to self-lock.
All in all if you do NOT like getting cut or having your gear being torn up do NOT get this.
P.S. FYI it does NOT have a LCD calculator as stated in the product description though it is obvious in the item picture to this fact.

I can't believe this product got 5 stars from another costumer. It is of the flimsiest quality and has no duribilty. The clasps make it difficult to open and even interferes with closing it. For the price and high shipping one would expect far superior quality.

The product appears to be just what I wanted, but the link on Amazon says that it comes with a calculator which is why it's a little more expensive then the next cheaper model. "Product Description

Mine came with no calculator which means that I paid a few dollars more for no reason.
I've also been waiting to receive a link of some kind where I could "contact seller" to let them know, but since no link every showed up on Amazon I decided to write this "less then perfect" review in the hopes that this oversight would eventually reach somebody's attention.

I've had the pleasure of using Saunder's products in various transportation and warehouse settings and have never been disappointed, but this Cruiser-Mate could never be used by professionals in the field (truckers, law-enforcement), unless of course, they wanted to slice their wrist doing paper-work. The metal is nearly as thin as a soda can, and the edges are as sharp as a razor. I'm disappointed Saunders would allow their name on this product. Thankfully, Amazon has good return policies.

I see some reviewers said this is a cheap clipboard I think it is just fine I use it everyday and have had no trouble with it yet! I am a truck driver and I treat things tough so it holds up with me it will last a long time and the price was nice too.
