Sound is unacceptable; edges are oddly clearApr 19, 2011
By S I was surprised and disappointed when I realized the edges weren't just white, they were white surrounded by clear plastic. No big deal, though. The sound, however, was unbelievably tinny. I'm not one who usually notices such things, but I was unable to listen to this TV without constantly being distracted (almost pained) by the horrible sound quality. I tried every sound setting, and nothing fixed it (or even came close). It will have to go back. What a disappointment. If you're still considering buying it, you might like to know that the menu system is also frustrating...not intuitive.

Great Kitchen TV!Apr 13, 2011
By Robw Bought this TV as a slave off the living room TV (also a Samsung). This TV has a great picture, slim light size with ample features. Sound is a bit tinny on the high end if turned up high but usually not noticeable, YMMV. Easy setup and color calibration. I loved that it has VESA mount screw holes in back that work great with the amazon basics wall mount arm. The remote is kinda cheap feeling but well built. I don't use it since this is slaved from another TV. Would definitely consider this for any other room where a smallish utility TV is needed.

Nearly perfectApr 15, 2011

This set has a beautiful picture, although it does take several seconds for it to appear when first turned on. The sound is somewhat tinny but there are options in the set-up that can help adjust it to your liking. All in all, a good buy.

Sounds excellent!Aug 07, 2011
By Andras I was skeptical about this TV because of the negative sound reviews. I am glad I bought it for our kitchen, because the sound is loud and clear. It sounds perfect for the size of the TV and especially for the size of the speakers. Should it sound as good as my home theater? If it did, something would be wrong with my home theater. :)
The picture is good out of the box, but you need to select Movie mode, and if you are using component input (not HDMI) ensure you plug the special included cable into the TV last, else the picture will be green. If green, unplug and re-plug into the TV, and your picture will be back to normal.
I will calibrate the TV using a calibration DVD and post the results later.

Great picture, so-so soundJul 20, 2011

I was looking for a white or silver TV for the kitchen to replace a very old and small Samsung flat panel - one of the first to come out. The picture quality on this one is very good - took me a while to configure it from the menu, but now it's great. In a sense, the TV seems a little "flimsy", especially when compared to the one it replaced, but with a 22" screen, it takes up less space and is lighter than the old one with only a 16" screen. I think that's the way electronics are going - minimal, the important thing being the picture, not the box that houses it. The sound quality, as reported by others, is mediocre - tends toward tinny, but not so much that it's terribly annoying. My husband didn't notice this at all. For the kitchen, it's close to perfect. Also, the stand is very low which allows it to fit under the overhanging kitchen cabinets without sacrificing screen size. Color and size were important to me and this is one of the few that fit the bill. One final comment - the power cord supplied is black - why wouldn't they supply a white cord with a white TV???
