3Gives You a Jolt!!Feb 21, 2009
By C. Nava "CynCat"
I've had this product for 2.5 yrs now, and I have to say, in general, it's a good piece of equipment. It's sturdy, long lasting, and dependable in most instances. It's annoying that if it rains outside or if the weather is not great, then the out of range indicator beeps until you either turn it off or move it to a place that might get better reception. However, I do like that you can put it on the sound activation mode which blocks out a lot of extraneous background noise. Here's my biggest beef with this item... though it indicates that there are various volume settings, the truth is, there are only two. Those two are 1) no sound and 2)sound so loud that it makes you jump 10 feet off your bed from fright. All my daughter has to do is let out a little cry or even just sit and talk to her stuffed bear and I swear to you the sound is so ear piercing, probably because it does not have any bass, that you immediately want to throw the darned thing out the window. So, be forewarned. Dependable and sturdy, but can be heard by dogs 4 counties over!

2Constant clicking!!!Feb 15, 2011
By Stayathomedad
Although i like sony products this product they should scrap and go back to the drawing board. I love the fact that it shuts off unless there is "noise" and then it turns on and works well....until the middle of the night when it starts "CLICKING" loud enough to wake the dead and a mom and dad that are working on limited sleep anyway!!! Eventually it will stop clicking but i have tried everything to get it to stop including moving it to a different room, placing in in the center of a room, shutting off our wifi, trying every signal variable, everything, shy of hanging it from the ceiling by fishing line. Don't buy this product if you like to sleep, as much as is possible with a newborn. I am heading out take this one back and buy a different one immediately!!!

1This Monitor Is Driving Me InsaneAug 17, 2011
By Jennifer Williamson
This started off as an ok monitor but as time went on it became more of a nuisance than a help. Here's why:

1. I can't put it near a cell phone or the charger for our digital home phone with out a lot of very loud static interference.

2. It will randomly make a loud clicking noise that has nothing to do with any sort of noise coming from the baby's room.

3. It also likes to make a VERY loud static noise (even when the volume is set to low) that keeps me up all night long thinking it's the baby waking up when it's really just the monitor being stupid.

It's basically made my already sleepless nights even more sleepless because the monitor wakes me up more than the baby does. It's reached the point where more than anything I just want to throw the darn thing out the window and be done with it. I'm planning on buying a new monitor and I would not recommend this one to anyone, unless of course you like your monitor to make loud noises constantly for no reason.

4Reliable and long lastingJul 19, 2009
By Captain Mal
We've been using this sound monitor for 5 years now, and it has been utterly dependable. There have been only two drawbacks: (1) The range is not all that great. With our daughter's room at one side of the house, and our room at the other, we have had to move the pickup unit to far wall of her bedroom so it will be as close as possible to ours. (2) There are 9 channels on our older model. When we started using this 5 years ago, any channel worked fine. But, times change, and there is a lot more RF interference: it will occasionally pick up our neighbor's cell phone conversations (not that interesting!); and the background suppression is now being affected by something---we haven't quite figured out what. Having the full 27 channels this model offers is doubtless an improvement over the version we have.

2Not a Good ChoiceApr 18, 2012
By Sally Bourbonnais
I really liked this monitor when we first took it out of the box. But after just a couple days it started doing annoying beeping CONSTANTLY no matter where in the house we put it. It also gives a ton of static feedback for no apparent reason. The battery life is good, and I like that it has two recievers, but I just can't use it with the beeping and static.
