Great for Market!Mar 28, 2009
By Dana We are a small family run farm and we go to farmer's markets every weekend plus we open up our farm for visitors and such. I needed something portable and within our very limited price range. Best thing is the wonderful job it does on taxes! We have food items which are a totally different price than our non-food items and now I don't have to go a bunch of extra steps at the end of the day. I also know what products are selling and making us money and which I can almost cut out or cut back on. Yeah - pushing the cash drawer to make it pop out can sometimes be a hassle, but one I'm willing to deal with - I found it prints faster with new batteries (which by the way seem to last forever!). I replace the C batteries 2-3 times PER YEAR and we use the machine every weekend almost. The smaller batteries which hold the information of the PLU's and such I don't change very often (maybe 1x per year). I am having a problem with the roller at this point - but it might just need to be replaced as it is now 2 years old. We are in the market for a 2nd one and recommend this one to a lot of people.

portable cash registerMay 15, 2007
By K. Dunn It's okay if you are in an area where you don't have access to electricity. It's very slow to print. It can be frustrating if your customers are in a hurry. Otherwise, it work well for us. I also didn't like the fact that you can & have to push on the drawer to open it. It does not open automatically when you finish the transaction.

Not BadNov 18, 2007
By Jen Pao This is not a bad register. it works well. It is a bit slow. You have to push on the drawer to open it. One good improvement would be if it could take the carbonless journal tape rolls to be able to give a copy of the receipt and to keep one for my records. Other than that, it serves it's purpose.

Start up instructions and manual difficult to followOct 01, 2008
By Rokndan Photos and diagrams in the manual that came with the Royal 115CX were few and far between, and text was very technical and difficult to follow. No diagram included with the register (purchased new) that even showed which key was the subtotal key. Spent almost one week trying to program the register.

One major problemDec 25, 2009
By made in Bought this register for use at a farmers market but found one bothersome problem that forced me to return it. It has an automatic shutoff when the register is not being used continuously (to save your batteries) and cannot be turned on again unless you remove the "c" batteries and reinstall them. Also, the on/off switch is beneath the paper tape cover which makes it inconvenient because you have to rethread the paper tape through the cover opening. Also, it is very slow in operation and when it gets busy, it cannot keep up. I'm better off going with a higher end register and use a rechargeable battery pack.
