Many mounting options and small size make this a winner for those with limited space. Was a breeze to install. The dial is clearly legible under all conditions. Affordable too.

This compass is not the cheap plastic compass that you see in many of the auto and department stores. It's a quality compass with some weight, and it mounts very nicely to the top center of the dash.
The compass itself rotates very freely inside the housing. It also tilts with the angle of the car.
It has compensators for north/south, east/west. They even give you a small non-magnetic tool to turn the little screws. Once you have it set up, there's no need for further adjustment.
I wanted a nice car compass without having to pay a lot of money. This one satsified me. I like it a lot.

Great item for car or boat. Reliable and doesn't seem to be too affected by electronics. It comes with a wire to connect to a 12V DC to light up if required.

I purchased my Ritchie Navigation Sport Compass Marine Black through Amazon.com
for a very reasonable price. I've owned a few compasses in my days and I have to say,
the Ritchie compass is one of the better ones I've owned. Two reasons why I say this.
One,it is made in the good old U.S.A and two it is a very well made compass.Although,
like most compasses,you might have to do some setting up.I was lucky and received
mine working directionally well out of the box.The compass comes with a light for
night viewing but,it must be hooked up to your vehicles twelve volt system some how
for it to work.I attached a twelve volt accessory male cigarette lighter plug to mine
and plug it in when needed.The Ritchie compass has a five year warranty that comes with
it.I feel that the five year warranty gives me a good feeling,because if there was a problem;
I know I could at least get it fixed or replace down the line with this warranty.

This compass may work well on boats, but it does not have enough adjustment flexibility to compensate for all the electrical influences in a car.
If you don't position it exactly right, including making some some adjustments, it becomes unless in any any other placement you may want to consider.
The limited amount of adjustment available on this compass, does not give you much of a choice where you set it up.
I would not recommend this compass if you are considering using it in a car.
