More Than I Expected!Jan 29, 2009

WOW! This was a real steal! I am very cautious about things that are to good to be true. This is very true! For the cost of this product, there is no better value. I like my speakers big and loud, and these exceeded all my expectations. I've played music most all of my life for people at all different occations and I was very impressed. I would reccomend these to anyone who needs more bang for their buck!

Shot In The Dark!Mar 15, 2012
By Da Mad Man
....Let me start out by saying that Amazon Customer Service is the BEST! I have a total of 4 of the speakers now. Purchased the first set in a customized DJ/Karaoke packaged deal back in late 2009 (BRAND NEW). Worked with them for around 1-1/2 years, no problems. Then in mid 2011 I decided I wanted a back-up set. So, I ordered from Amazon. Order went through and speakers arrived with no visible damage to outer box. Opened the first one up and noticed a very strong smell from the glue. Not to mention, the speakers also appeared to be rather warm/hot (summertime). Regardless, I took speakers completely out of the box and plastic. Both speakers had damage and the glue smell was filling up the house completely. Enough to make your eyes water! Although the same model, they seemed a great deal lighter than my other pair. So I weighed them and each one was 20 pounds lighter. One of the speakers was FLOPPING around, only being held in by two screws. The other one had grill damage and a 1"x2" gash in the side. I immediately contacted Amazon and they took care of everything and sent out a pair of replacements. They arrived within a few days with absolutely no issues. I proceeded to hook them up and all was fine. The specs show MDF used on these cabinets but it's more like OSB. Although I've had no issues, be a little more careful than normal if you're gonna be transporting them. Specs also rate them as 1600 WATTS/800 RMS. I believe that's pushing it a bit (overrated). Pyle Pro Customer Service is kind of STRANGE (You might get disconnected, you might have to wait for SEVERAL minutes and they seem a little unsure of themselves & product).
......Now for the PROS: (Hard To Believe There Could, Right?)
I run mine off of a Behringer Europower PMP 3000 and 4000. When Pyle Pro gets it right, they do get it right! The sound is CRAZY GOOD, especially for the PRICE! However, if you're expecting to get a ton of base, hold the horses down. You'll most likely want to get a sub woofer. Base is there and is ok but I like having some extra thump. Mids and highs are really good with no distortion. I have pushed the things for hours and hours. First set has roughly 800 hours on them and second set has roughly 200 + hours. Have noticed that some other reviewers have had issues and I understand. However, for the price, the sound, the quality (but not that OSB Wood Cabinet ) and if you're careful with them, they should last you for a good amount of time.
......A couple side notes: #1) I have used other Big Name Speaker Companies in my 15 years. All Speaker Companies have Pros & Cons but most BIG names have a much BIGGER price tag for similar sounding quality. #2) If you are nervous about getting a bad one or set, I would suggest purchasing an Extended Warranty. Perhaps Square Trade. It should get you piece of mind.

Could be better, but for the price they're a steal.Jan 02, 2010
I was very cautious buying these as I've learned the hard way in the past the deal with cheap electronics. As well as hearing nothing but bad things about Pyle, I decided at ($99 shipped, used) + one from Provantage ($117 shipped, new), I couldn't really go wrong with them. I have to say they look very impressive, and even with my temporary Yamaha HTR-5280, (100w x5), they get REALLY loud. I would not consider the two woofers subwoofers as they do produce high frequency sounds to help out the horn and tweeters. I don't know if this can be changed by messing with the crossover, but I'm not going to dig around in the speakers quite yet. The listing says they have dual 1/4 and dual speakon, however mine both came with dual binding posts as well, which is exactly what I needed and ended up not having to build my own cables or spend more money. I have looked into replacing the woofers, however I'm not sure I want to take any chances and I'm not experienced to know if changing the woofers from (16ohms each), to at least 8ohms each would not only increase the load and lower the ohms for the receiver, but do damage or put extra stress on the board inside the speaker, (unless that is only the crossover). Cabinets look great from the outside, but when you open them up they are very cheaply made, and you may need to vaccum out the inside the first time you get it as pieces of the cheap wood actually fall off inside during shipping and I had some small wood chunks that were rattling around in the woofers. For the price, they are really great and get very loud. They don't sound hollow or anything, but unless you don't like thumping, stomach shaking bass, you will need a subwoofer. The two 12's really don't give you that much bass. I am currently using them as the right and left front channels in my room and they are great. Makes me wonder if the 15' woofer version of these would be much better, however there was a large price difference between the two when I bought them.

Cheaply MadeFeb 25, 2011
I bought a pair of these and when they arrived the first one I opened was perfect but the second one I opened the horn was completely busted out of it and laying on the bottom of the box. I called Amazon and they told me to send it back and they would overnight me another one. When I received the new one the next day both of the subs were busted out beyond repair and the front grill was also damaged and broken out. I once again called Amazon and told them that it was damaged so they told me once again to send it back and they would overnight me another one. The third and final one arrived and was in worse shape than the previous two. I told Amazon that I just wanted a refund and they did that and credited my acct. $40 on top of the price of the speaker. I do have to say though that just having one hooked up to a 2200 watt Pyle amp it does sound pretty good. It doesn't compare to a Peavey, JBL, or Yamaha but for the price of these compared to those the sound quality is pretty darn good.

Please do not buy these. If you do, test them immediately!Aug 24, 2013
By Amazon Customer
This is partially my fault for not testing the speakers right away, but the reason I give them one star and the warning is because yes, they probably work most of the time, but they are very poorly constructed, and I guarantee you that even if they're working when you receive them, they will not last for long.
I originally ordered two of these and one of them showed up with the insides all loose and broken inside the cabinet. So I returned it for a new one. Unfortunately I was so busy with work that I never tested the speakers until today. One of them works fine, the other, only the tweeter works. It's too late to return it so now I'm stuck with their junk,
If you're going to buy PA equipment, going cheap really is going to be a factor. I strongly recommend to avoid these speakers and get something more durable.
