5These held up to the teenager test!Jun 07, 2007
By Valorie Spencer
I bought a pair of these mattresses at the last minute on price alone because we needed a pair of twins in a hurry. They held their air through four full days/nights of camping by two teenage boys. They boys like to flop down and bounce around - goofing off as kids do.
We used standard twin sheets which stayed tucked in. The mattresses did not get cold in the night (the flocking helps) and never lost a bit of air. They were very quick to inflate, quick to deflate, and easy to roll up to pack for the next trip. Winners... who knew? Now YOU do.

Update. The review above was written during the summer. The mattresses were since stored in a covered tub in our hot Florida attic for many months until being pulled out for a Thanksgiving camping trip. Once again these mattresses held up to the teenager test. They were just as supple and fresh as the first day out of the box. I'm really happy with these and plan to use them again in another few months.

4Nice, Cheap, Comfortable and worth it.Oct 16, 2008

I bought this to have in Iraq since Army mattresses pretty much suck. Well this little number is really easy to inflate and very comfortable. It inflates very quickly with the included pump. The only negative thing about this is that the quick release cap can pop off when the mattress is fully inflated and happens to rub up on something like the edge of the bed frame. Not a problem if you plan on using it on the floor for camping or a flat bed with no bed frame that stands above it. It is very cheap even with the delivery fee and even arrived within 9 days all the way to Iraq! The material seems durable and so far it only seems to need a slight refill every few days, but I am a big guy and that could be the reason why it looses a little air.

4Ok mattress.Dec 15, 2008
By V. Sorochkin
I needed a cheap matress that was small enough to carry around in car easily. This definatelly fit the bill. It is very durable and easy to blow up. This unit came with a pump with 4D batteries. HUGE HASSLE! Take my advise and buy the same one that comes with an electric pump or the manual pump, a few bucks extra. This pump will not work on weak batteries and pumps up the mattress to about 80% capacity, not more.
Now I am forced to buy an electric one separately, about $20. Besides the pump, it is a good buy. Does not come with a bag, you gotta find your own.

1Worked for a few days then failed miserablyJan 17, 2011

This air mattress was great. Until the layering inside became twisted. Now there is a large "hump" in the center of the mattress. It is nearly impossible to sleep on. After a quick email to Intex explaining that the mattress received no abuse but appeared to just twist on its own I received an email back saying "sorry" and "nothing can be done." Way to sell a shoddy air mattress. I would suggest buying a different brand. One without separate inner tubes.

5Intex Air Matteress - 8"Aug 18, 2008
By Steelheadbud "Spaceheater1"
Great air mattress! Went camping and it stayed inflated for 3 days and was still inflated when I broke camp. Inflates fast with pump. Probably a little heavy for long backpacking trips. Super for vehicle camping. I have a bad back and it did not bother me at all. Very comfortable. Valve a little complicated but easy to operate once you figure out how it works. The soft top is great. The vinal is heavy and tough. Fits perfect in my 2 person backpacking tent with some room to spare on both sides for personal items. Free pump is a nice touch but a little hard on batteries. You get 4-5 fills to a set of 4 size D batteries. I have an additional pump that hooks into my truck lighter that I use if I can to save on batteries. They also make 110 pumps for home use. Great price! A few bucks less than Shopko sale price.
