500ma per usb portDec 05, 2009
By S. Currier Just got this charger from Walmart. Seems to be working pretty good. The "manual" that comes with the car charger says that it can supply 500ma per usb port at 5.2V. I was a little concerned about this with my Motorola Droid, since the wall charger that comes with the phone says it can do 850ma.
But, I put the charger through a bit of a stress test with the Droid for around 20 minutes by turning the screen brightness all the way up, turning on turn-by-turn navigation with satellite view, turning on wifi and bluetooth, and streaming high quality music over the Pandora app at full volume. The battery didn't go down at all. I started out fully charged. Not sure how it would perform over a longer trip, but for now it seems good. I am wondering if 500ma per side means 1000ma if you only have one thing plugged in.
UPDATE: I was able to charge the Droid from 60% to 100% in about 50 minutes while doing this kind of stress test scenario. One strange thing though... when I first plugged the phone in, nothing was happening. Then, I unplugged the usb from the charger and changed ports. It started actually charging. Then, I switched back and it started charging again. Then, I unplugged from the phone and replugged and nothing happened. So from that it would seem that you have to connect the phone first and then the cable to the charger. No problem for me. But then later I wanted to test it again so I unplugged from the phone and replugged. It started charging. So, I have had both results. I am pretty sure that this is something to do with the phone rather than the charger. I was using the USB cable supplied with the phone.

Very compact, very powerful, doesn't get hotAug 27, 2009
By Pilchard We have several Palm Pre's to charge while driving and have attempted to use different car chargers. This charger stands out as perhaps the best of the lot. It is very small, provides plenty of power, and doesn't get hot. If you want a well made, small, easy to use charger that will handle charging two smart phones at the same time ... this would be a great choice.

Works great for many different charging needs and inexpensiveAug 08, 2009
By Jeremy C. I bought this charger to use in my vehicle to charge, iPhone, Samsung Magnet, Motorola S9 headphones, and Motorola Razr. It works for every one of them. The two usb ports allow me to use the data cable that came with the phones or buy ones to go with the phones. Also the ability to charge 2 devices at once is a great thing. The unit I bought from amazon is actually my second one for another vehicle (return customers to me are a great indication of a good product). This unit is very small and can easily be tucked away somewhere in the car when not in use.

Works great but...Jan 18, 2010
By Angel Roman This charger looks and works great. Unfortunately, there's a new addition to the USB standard which requires dumb chargers (i.e. devices/chargers that do not use the data lines) to short both data lines of the USB cable. This device and many others do not comply. Therefore, my Nokia N900 simply ignores the charger and refuses to charge. A work around is to solder the center pins (D+ and D-) of the usb connector.

iPhone 3G chargerOct 15, 2009
By Tim Craig I was hesitant about buying yet another USB charger for my iPhone that wouldn't work, but I really needed one. I picked this up at WalMart, which cost me a little more, but I needed it quickly. :)
This will charge 2 iPhones perfectly fine (had a chance to try that out this past weekend). Given that they seem to be the most picky, I'm guessing it will charge two of everything. ;)
It also has nice pretty lights to let you know when its powering each of the ports.
