4For 249.99, You Won't Go WrongAug 04, 2008
By The Spatula "The Spatula"
I had $300 in gift certificates from Best Buy and my Mission ASI 700 sub had died. My home theatre is relatively small so I don't need a 300+ watt monster. I auditioned the Klipsch and it was just too boomy for my tastes, I love tight well defined bass and boomy only when it is suppose to be. I was impressed with the Definitive PSB1000 it was tight and punchy, but I did not want to spend $499.00+. The Polk PSW110 was 249.99 and it gave tight bass, but definitely seemed a little thin at the store. It has a 30 day money back from Best Buy, so I gave it a shot. When I got it home, I fired it up with my Outlaw 950 and the sound was tight, but still seemed to be a little thin and muddy sounding. Knowing that out of the box is not a speakers true sound, I loaded up the CD carousel and let it go at moderate volume. About 4 hours in, "The sub came to life!!!!" It put out extremely tight, strong and well defined bass, beyond its $249 price tag. The only thing that separated its sound quality from a $500+ sub is that, it's low end could be a hair lower. I put in X2 (X-Men United)on the DVD player and this sub did a fantastic job!!!! The definitive does go a little bit lower, but this is every bit as tight, defined and musical, extremely impressive for a $249.00 sub. YOU MUST GIVE IT AT LEAST 4 HOURS OF BREAK IN BEFORE MAKING A SERIOUS DECISION. CHANCES ARE THAT THE DISPLAY AT BEST BUY HAS NOT BEEN BROKEN IN.

3Good clean sub - but underpoweredFeb 29, 2008
By D. Christiansen
I got this for free in an Amazon/Polk offer - buy over $500 of Polk / get the sub free. The subwoofer is incredibly clean - but can't quite keep up with the rest of my system (Onkyo HT-SR875 and Polk Monitor series in a 5.1 config). This sub would probably be great in a very small home theater in a small room. Free was a great price - but when I get a chance, this will be moved to the rear of my system and I'll add a 12"/230W Sub as my primary to help shake the house.

Extra points for how clean it is - since it's really easy to muddy up the low frequencies & the sound this creates is very crisp.

5A great sub at a great priceAug 28, 2009
By Openspace "Seeking truth..."
This is a great sub. Great with both movies (BOOM!) and music (tight). But you have to dial it in! Take some time, read your receiver and speaker manuals, do your homework. It has to be adjusted for your system. Also give it a week or so to break in - many have reported this sub becomes bassier and more responsive with a little time. I paired this with a set of Polk TSi300 towers and couldn't be happier with the result. Looks awesome too - very well designed.

4Good SubJul 18, 2008
By Danno J
This sub works great in my home theater. It has plenty of power, is built well and is able to produce great lows with no distortion. I preferred this sub over the PSW10 as it has more power and the LFE input. Works great in Movie and Music applications.
