 Solid #2 to a ThumperJan 17, 2012

Although I though I could skimp a bit a get a Wahl that was as strong as a Thumper, (I'd tried a Thumper and they are strong) the Wahl's better than the Homedics or Sharper Image, but not as strong as the Thumper. I ended up buying a Thumper and gave the Wahl to my wife, who can't use it at full speed. So if you are working out alot as an older person, the Wahl might not do it for you. Regardless, massage is a great way to avoid NSAIDs and more serious pain meds.

I already own the Handheld Percussion Massager Tapping Pro which I also bought here on Amazon. I purchased the Wahl 4290 because it said "Deep-tissue" in the name. However, although it is a decent massager, it has mediocre power. The tapping Pro is about 10-15% stronger than the Wahl 4290. Also the Wahl, at it's highest setting, is just not capable of giving a true "deep-tissue" massage. Nevertheless, the Wahl can still provide a mild to moderate vibrating massage which is all some people may want or need. I was looking for something stronger and that's why I was a little dissapointed. For comparison you may want to check out the Handheld Percussion Massager Tapping Pro which is a little better and within the same price range as the Wahl.

This massager is very powerful and the different heads are definitely a plus! You are able to reach hard to reach places on your back and it works knots out easily! Best massager ever!

I purchased this massager & it worked for about 1 month, I returned it to Wahl to repair (cost me over $10.00 to ship back to them). They sent me another unit..this one worked for 10 minutes...I sent this one back on their dime. They never sent me that same unit as a replacement, instead sent me a smaller massager with heat as the replacement, which I did not want. I sent that one back. I am now waiting for them to send me my money back...we will see what happens!

THUMBS UP HAS PLENTY OF HORSE POWER FOR ME AND LET ME TELL YOU .
I TOOK A FALL MANY YEARS A GO HANDIMART CEDAR RAPIDS IA. MY BACK HAS BEEN SO MESSED UP SINCE.
I LITTERLY HAVE DAYS I JUST CRY HEADACHES THAT DRAPES ARE CLOSED LIGHTS OUT.
THIS MASSAGER HAS HELPED ME SO MUCH TO FEEL NORMAL .
I DO GET DIZZY NAUSEATED EASY SO DON'T BE IT UP THE NECK .
MY GRAND CHILDREN LOVE MASSAGING MY BACK AND I LET THEM EASY BABYSITTING.
IF IT EVER BREAKS DOWN I WILL REPLACE IT SAME ONE.
