Do NOT purchase.Jul 28, 2010
By Dissatisfied. The "new" appliance I received was covered in scratches and scrapes though the burners looked untouched. The double burner was slow to heat up but I let it take its time. After half an hour, it still wasn't hot enough to brown my ground beef in the slightest, though the metal around the burners was extraordinarily hot. Not only was it scratched and ugly but it was completely useless. To top it all off, the seller (CSB Commodities, ANTOnline) has absolutely absurd return policies so I'm stuck with this piece of crap.
Buyer beware!

Professional Series Double Burner is HotttSep 22, 2010

Recently moved into an apartment with no stove, which was nearly a deal-breaker because I love to cook. I grudgingly agreed to take the place if the rental company agreed to provide a hot-plate of my choosing. And I must say this Professional Series was a great choice.
It's compact, well-designed, and cranks out plenty of heat. I first tested it by cranking the large burner all the way to the top setting to see how quickly it would heat up. I decided to see at what point it would fry an egg. The butter melted instantly as it hit the pan, started sizzling, and I fried that egg when the burner had only warmed up for a few moments.
The solid burners crank out steady, even heat, and make cleanup a breeze.
Hey, it's not a gas range. It takes a bit longer to heat up and cool down. But for the money and convenience, this humble burner is HOT! I highly recommend this product.

arrived dented and damagedAug 16, 2010
By Mollie Summerland Impossible to use item. The outer box was severely damaged and although the inner box looked O.K. the actual unit was scratched, dented and torked. The company issued a full refund.
If you want hot food look elsewhereDec 06, 2010

This electric burner was a complete waste. I do not have a proper kitchen in my current setup so this is suppose to be my main source for cooking food. Upon first use and waiting 35 minutes for it boil a pot of water (the water never did boil) I just cooked my pasta as best as I could. From what I saw, the burner has a system that makes it "shut off" when it reaches it's peak temperature.
I had this turned all the way up for over half an hour and I could still place my hand on the pot.
You wanna buy a new oversized paper weight, here's where to get it. Otherwise AVOID AT ALL COST...except the money you've already spent on it, on that, you're S.O.L.
