Incorrect InformationMay 11, 2009

I have an SKS-HT240 speaker system. Although the product description purports that these stands fit my speakers, they indeed, do not. In addition, be forewarned that despite the claim in the product description, these stands are NOT height adjustable. If you think that you might like these stands for another speaker system, you might wish to contact Onkyo directly to make sure of compatibility, as you obviously cannot rely on the Onkyo provided description.
Finally, one of the two stands came with screw holes that failed to line up by quite a large margin, allowing the use of only one of the two screws to hold the pole to the base. Poor quality control. They actually deserve a '0' rating. Onkyo: (800) 229-1687.

SO SO speaker standsApr 24, 2010

Base is a littler light, not made for all Onkyo speakers. I have an Onkyo 920 and I had to modify the speakers to fit these stands. I would NOT buy another set nor would I recommend them to a friend.

Great looking stands, works with HT-S7409Dec 12, 2011
By grizzles In my opinion these look worlds better than the pedestal stands built for bookshelf speakers and that seemed to be one of the only alternatives out there. While the HT-S7409 wasn't listed as a compatible product I figured I would give it a shot and sure enough they fit perfectly even with 12awg wire. My only complaint was the pipe section was pretty difficult to completely seat into the base and I had to use a rubber mallet to help it along.

Onkyo Speaker StandsAug 31, 2009

Perhaps a bit more costly than some stands but well made. I'm ordering a second set for a 7.1 setup. They fit the Onkyo speakers perfectly. As others have said, not height adjustable..and the speaker wire is a bit thin otherwise this review could have been 5 stars...
Base misalignment problemFeb 18, 2012
By Spartan Child I bought a pair of these Onkyo Speaker stands from Amazon and when the first set arrived one of the posts would not line up correctly with the peg in the base. While gently coercing the post to seat properly, the peg on the base snapped so, thanks to Amazon's awesome return policy, I sent them back for a replacement pair ... no harm, no foul. Unfortunately, I went out of town so 31 days passed before I tried assembling the replacement set. No need to worry though, right? I mean, this is Onkyo, I'm sure that problem was a fluke ... right? You guessed it ... I was wrong! I put the first post/base together without a hitch (just like the first time) and then the second one had the exact same misalignment problem that I ran into 31 days ago. Due to Amazon's awesome return policy, since I didn't figure this out yesterday, now I have to pay for return shipping and hope for a "partial refund"... I'm stuck. That's not their fault though, it's these stands I have an issue with today. After looking through past feedback, I see that I'm not the only person running into this problem. I'll copy three comments from other people with the same issue - these are not my words, and I didn't request their permission to use these, so please forgive any unintentional copyright infringements here:
"Finally, one of the two stands came with screw holes that failed to line up by quite a large margin, allowing the use of only one of the two screws to hold the pole to the base. Poor quality control. "
"My only complaint was the pipe section was pretty difficult to completely seat into the base and I had to use a rubber mallet to help it along."
"Additionally, one of the poles was (practically) broken in the stand, thank goodness Amazon has an excellent return policy."
Those are not my quotes - those are three different reviewers that appear to have suffered from the exact same problem I had. For the record, I was much more gentle than "rubber mallet" guy but mine still snapped like a twig and is now useless. Unfortunately, I had one base/pole team in each box that worked flawlessly, so one good pair of stands does exist out there... wish I had that other pair to match the one in my house right now!!
Buy with caution!!!
