 Good product but beware expiration dateDec 02, 2011

I'm happy with this product (10-user license) and would have given it five stars. But beware: we bought this to upgrade from the 2011 version (also 10-user). Thirty days before that expired, a series of obnoxious and intrusive popup reminders from Norton to "Renew Now" began appearing every day on our 10 PCs with last year's product.
Deciding to get a jump on things, I installed the 2012 version over the 2011 version on oner PC (which still had 29 days left) and was very annoyed to see that the new 2012 version defaulted to 366 days until it expired, thereby cheating us out of 29 days remaining from last year. Norton is certainly smart enough to know what they're doing here (and I believe that last year's new install didn't cheat you and added the remaining days to the new 366, which seems only fair).
So now I've stopped upgrading the other PCs and we have to endure 30 days of obnxious popups on 9 machines. Ironic that a Norton product would plague you with popups! They've even figured out how to make the popups appear over your screen saver! I was close to dumping Norton over this, but I'd probably hold my nose and buy this product again based on its security performance. But I'm giving it only two stars because of the above faults. Caveat emptor.
(If after enduring another month of this behavior and discovering that the remaining 9 PCs all default to 366 days from the date of the first install, I'll be doubly pissed off!)

I have been buying multiple licenses of Norton Internet Security for years, but this is the last. Because it has taken me a while to update all of my computers, I found out that when my previous subscription expired, the product totally disabled itself and insisted I purchase an upgrade. I thought that when my subscription expired, it would just stop giving me access to the live updates, but in fact it has disabled the smart firewall, scanning, logins, etc. -- every feature of the product is now dead, and it is insisting that I must purchase an upgrade or continue with NO PROTECTION.
I feel this is totally unreasonable, and after many years as a loyal Symantec customer, I will not purchase another Symantec or Norton product. There are several other products that work just as well (and in fact sometimes clear viruses that Norton has missed) at no cost or less cost, and certainly less frustration.
One product that I'd recommend in lieu of Norton is AVG Antivirus. I've used it to clear viruses that Norton has missed.

This is exactly the same item that I looked at in several stores for a considerably higher price. I've used Internet Security for years and this works great as always. Have installed it on all my computers with no issues. Some people have complained about the fact that the year starts with the first installation. Since I always install this on all the systems as soon as I buy it, this isn't a problem for me.

Very Disappointed. Description says that it will work on Windows 2000, but it does not. :-( Support told me I needed to upgrade to xp.

Its Norton. A real review is kind of like saying... rate your local gas station. if ya need gas ya need gas. Who provides it is pretty much just a matter of preference. If you're savvy you can get away with not having av protection but if you have less-than-savvy friends or children then you know you need it for all those times that YOU aren't the one doing the clicking. Personally I have been using norton for 13 years now and have yet to be disappointed. Their tech support isn't half bad either if you ever have the need to call them. 360 is bloatware to the extreme but the IS has the firewall and the AV which is just enough to get it done. Freemium services will try to get you to upgrade and frankly even the paid versions of those are complete [FAIL]. You get what you pay for. Kaspersky, Panda, NOD32, Norton, and eset. Those are the big options. Everything else is McCr*ppy.
