don't be mislead by the 3PC on the boxDec 20, 2011
By APRIL I love norton. I buy about 10 copies a year because I have a lot of computers. I was a bit mislead by this box, 1 user 3 pcs. I thought I could install it on 3 pcs in my home and it would run for a year on each pc. well, it does not. My antivirus protection on my computers expires at different times. I just realized that when you install on the 2nd and 3rd computer, it only allows you the time left on the first computer, which to me, should be clearly advertised on the box, which I could not see it anywhere. I would have bought the other option of it, where they send you 3 discs. I did not realize it was this way.

Sluggish Resource HogDec 27, 2011

I had switched to Norton back in 2009 when they started getting positive reviews for keeping resource usage at a minimum. I haven't had any real complaints with it until this 2012 version. Ever since installing it my computer runs sluggish & found it was Norton (ccSvcHst.exe) eating up 88% of my CPU just idling, it wasn't even scanning! Norton is quick to report other applications with resource usage but doesn't report itself. I cannot in good conscious recommend this product until they fix this issue & go back to using minimum resources as they did in 2009-2011.

All You NeedOct 24, 2011
By Nuke When we had Internet Security and 360, we never used any of their features. Antivirus is all you need. Installed easily and works behind the scenes.

Great but CAVEATDec 05, 2011

Having three computers this was a no brainer compared to the $44 ea for online renewal. BEWARE however that if you currently have Norton with different expiration dates for your computers you cannot update each one as they expire and get the full year from that date. The 1 yr clock clock starts after you enroll the first computer. Still it may be much cheaper to do all at the same time for the great savings over online renewal. BTW Norton customer service was excellent in doing the updates on all 3 computers for me as a somewhat novice. The last 2 times I have contacted them I received excellent and prompt customer care. Be sure to register your products online and create an account with them so you can get to free customer service easier and they will have all the product key codes in your file for the future, or if your hard drive crashes and you need to re-install (which they did for me quickly recently). I don't know why the other reviewer is squawking about a 10 day trial rip-off, that is not true at all. This is for a full year for three computers. I have used Norton for many years and the current versions are much improved and take up less resources than in the past. Excellent product.

Compared to version 2010 or older I give 2011 & 2012 - 5 StarsJan 06, 2012
By JDH In the past I have tried Norton, but it seemed to slow my computers down a lot. I purchased a new system last year and it came with 90 days of Norton 2011. I really noticed a difference from the previous versions. I didn't notice a change in performance at all after installing. Later I click checked for new version and poof I was upgraded to the 2012 for free which was awesome (as long as you still have days left in your subscription the upgrade is free.) Since then I purchased a 3 user edition and put it on my girlfriends laptop and also renewed mine. I still have one left to use.
PLEASE NOTE::: If you use this as a renewal keep in mind that it will not extend your current subscription. What I mean is say if you have 55 days left and you use the key it will not stack you will end up with just 366 days, so keep that in mind you wont get 366 days plus what is left of your current subscription. Some may subtract a star for that but for the price whats the point in complaining when you can get it on amazon more than half off retail.
PLEASE NOTE-2::: Also I am using these Norton on both systems that have Windows 7 and 4gb ram one is a dual core the other is a quad core. I cannot say that there is any performance decline on any systems with less performance than what I have just stating my review on what I own.
CHEERS!!!
