great gift for your little builderNov 05, 2008
By JD i bought this product as a gift for my 8 year old cousin. at first i was skeptical that he could build it as it has so many parts. this was not the case at all. the build is based off of 3 pieces: a ball, socket and rod that click together. it was easy for him to build and the motion and sounds that the items makes are a nice bonus so that he can play with the item once it is built.

I bought this for my 13 year old son for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He has been working at it in bits and pieces, and has not had any problems getting the pieces to fit correctly or understand the directions. He works on it for about a half hour or so before he goes to bed, for about 3 nights and has the head and all of the body complete. It is great to keep his hands busy while he is relaxing for bedtime. He has never had a set like this before, but has done K'nex and legos. If I find another set made by Struxx, I will will def buy another.
For all adults and engineers that responded....sometimes you need to think like a child and not an adult. As adults we tend to over think things.....this is part imaginaton, part directions.

RobotrixJan 13, 2009
By Christmas Shopper It took all Christmas Day for two 14 year olds to assemble this but they liked the challenge and it was a challenge. Usually you see a picture on the box that exaggerates the size of the toy but this thing was actually an impressive 3 feet tall with moving jaw and growling sounds. The fun of this toy is in the building it. After that it is like a large static pet. It can be reassembled into other creatures though which extends it's interest.

age recommendationJan 17, 2009
By Customer in Texas The Robotrixx appears to be a complex but fun toy... unfortunately, I purchased for my nephew's 6th birthday... the age recommendations on Amazon read age 6 and above... when I received the toy, the box recommmends an older age. This toy is more appropriate for a child age 9 and over. I was dissappointed my nephew could not immediately play with the toy unless an adult is there to build it for him.
