Breathaking realistic and flexibleFeb 08, 2005

This has been my favorite screen saver.
I have seen most of these fish in their natural settings. The ones in this program look realistic. Their movement appears natural in all dimensions. The Lionfish is a particularly breathaking work of art. The spines, fins and tail move independently. The eyes are not static. Each fish moves in and out of the immoble coral base. My resident purist objected to the fact that some of the coral, and fish would not exist together in nature in the same place. My resident pursit also noted that there ought to be sea urchins. On the other hand, I did not have to swallow any salt water or get a sunburn to see the display.
The program installed easily and did not upset the rest of my computer settings. It is easy to change shading, contrast brightness and on-off timing. Th program easily adapts to screens of varying dimensions You only get a limited number of fish together at a given time. At first this bothered me and I wanted more simultaneously. I changed my mind after I tried out another aquarium program that allows many more fish. After a while I decided that too many fish become distracting and less realistic.
Marine Aquarium makes it easy to change the visible fish. Kids who come into my office like to change the fish themselves. Several of the available fish are similar to some of the stars of "Finding Nemo" and the kids like to make sure that these fish are visible.

Buy this screensaver now! It is awesomeJan 20, 2005

I've had the screensaver for years I had a version of it before, when 1.0 and have not regretted buying it. This is a screensaver that you just want to watch. It has the most amazing wow factor. People will just stare in amazement at it.
This screensaver currently will not run on dual monitor setups. But almost any graphics card made in the last three years will power it perfectly. Even if you have an integrated graphics card (one that's attached to the motherboard). It should work perfectly, at any resolution up to 1024 x 768. With that kind of card.
So enjoy it!

BreathtakingMar 14, 2006

I love fish, but haven't the time nor money to buy a real marine aquarium. Although content with my 30 gallon freshwater, it's nice to watch exotic fish swim around in a nice habitat. This screensaver does just that.
You can choose from dozens of fish. You can choose specific fish for your screensaver, random, none, or a mixture of all three. Up to 7 fish are available to be in the scene at one time; anymore would seem a little crowded. The art is AMAZING. The fish actually move like real fish, not like 2D pictures that float across the screen. You can also choose to mess with the foreground and background lighting for different effects. Another fun feature is you can view little information tidbits about each fish when you select them (like their location, size, etc. in real life). You also have a cute little starfish that likes to move around. He's a nice little touch. Sound and bubbles can be turned on and off, and you can choose to have it turn off after a certain amount of time to prevent monitor burns.
I can't stress this enough; this screensaver is one of the best out there. It's worth every penny. You'll get compliments from everyone who passes by your screen. I highly reccomend it! :)

Very realistic aquarium screensaverMay 21, 2003
By T. Boardman I first found Marine Aquarium version 1.1 and loved it. I upgraded to 2.0 a few weeks ago. This is a very good product. The fish look so realistic you could be watching a DVD of an actual aquarium. I havent had any unwanted side effects like lockups. I'm running it now on a 2-year old computer (with an AMD Athlon 1.3 Ghz processor and an Nvidia Geforce2 graphics card). It works fine there. On the other hand, I tried installing version 1.1 on a 5 year old computer (pentium 3 - 500 mhz with a bargain video card). That didn't work. You need a fairly recent computer to be able to handle these detailed graphics.

Amazing graphicsFeb 03, 2004
By Daddy O The graphics are amazing. My local CompUSA was using this on all of their demo monitors, and I just had to have it. It is a lot of fun. And you don't have to clean the tank! But one watchout... I don't recommended it for "slower" machines... it totally bogs down my Pentium II 333 at work... had to uninstall it. Works great on P3 933.
