This item was recommended by several people after having purchased a new trolling motor for my 21' center console boat. It's an all-purpose boat for my needs and I was looking for a way of removing the trolling motor easily without leaving a cumbersome mount attached to the boat. This mount certainly filled my need with it's low profile installation.

This bow mount is great and easy to use. It will only fit the Riptide SF, Riptide SM, and Riptide SE motors. As another review said, it will not work for the Riptide ST or Riptide SP. You need the
RTA-17 mount for that.

I was pleased to receive my quick release bracket. When I opened the box there was NO HARDWARE!!! It clearly states that the hardware is included. This is a huge dissappointment. I am not one to write bad reviews, but when this has happened twice with marine sporting goods it is a hassle.

Although the promotional material and the box the item came in all say this Quick Release mount will work with ANY Riptide bowmount trolling motor, it simply did not fit with the motor (SP) I bought at the same time. The holes in the part that is supposed to marry up with the trolling motor do not match with the holes in the motor itself. I had to mount the motor directly on the boat and cannot easily remove it for storage, security, or servicing. I returned the bracket mount to Amazon.
