 Kinect TV Top MountMay 10, 2011

Overall this mount is very good. It works with my ultra-slim Samsung 55" LED TV. I did a lot of research before I found a mount that worked with a slim TV. I didn't care for the idea of telescoping arm mounts. The instructions are terrible, but the mount is easy to figure out. The mount can be left in place and the Kinect controller removed very easily, as it just clips (securely) in place. Even the mount itself can be taken down easily as it has one screw and some velcro holding it in place. The complete assembly with the Kinect sits about 4 inches above the TV frame. The Kinect works much better on top of the TV than sitting below and in front of the TV. If you want a TV top mount for your Kinect this is the one you want.

I needed a solution for getting my Kinect to sit atop my 50" Plasma and away from my 2 1/2 yr old. So while researching I found that most of the solutions were way over priced or didn't seem to offer the stability I was looking for to solve this issue. I was going to buy another product that was for the PS3 Move camera (which I don't have) and some Velcro, but then came across this.
Out of the box I knew that this was going to meet my expectations. I saw that it actually clipped to Kinect base for a secure fit.
Installation is a breeze, except for the part where the depth of you TV comes into play. The directions showed a picture, with some instruction. I know it isn't rocket science, but make sure when you are installing this onto your TV that the Kinect is not attached as the directions suggest.
After successfully installing the TV clip some adjustment was required. Just to get it centered. It uses Velcro on the wall mount bracket piece to ensure stability.
After a couple of weeks of use with games like: Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Kinect Adventures, I must say that it has definitely enhanced the experience due to the relocation.
No real negatives here. Great product at a great price (compared to other products out now).

Exactly What I NeededMay 10, 2011

Before this product became available, all I could find where items to bolt to the tv or stands for my Kinect. It's easy to use (plus inexpensive item) is exactly what I was wanting. An easy clip/slide onto the top of my tv. I'm about 6'3" and the kinect had a hard time scanning the top of my shoulders and head in from my tv stand, problem solved. The clip fits on my LG 42LD550.

must have if you have a coffee tableMay 23, 2011

We have a 55" Samsung LCD (650 series) that sits on an entertainment stand (4 Ikea Corras put together as a cheap solution) Before getting this product our only option was to place the kinect sensor on the entertainment stand just in front of the tv. However, we have a coffee table so the kinects couldn't see our feet, forcing us to push the coffee table against the entertainment stand (a minor inconvenience, but troublesome none-the-less)
With this stand, I was able to mount the sensor on top of the Samsung so that now, the Kinects can see our feet over the coffee table with less trouble. Gaming is a lot easier now, without having to rearrange our furniture.
For this, I give it a solid 5 stars.
Minor inconvenience that was easy to solve: the Samsung LCD panel has that 'touch of color' screen that, unfortunately meant the front of the tv sticks up 1/2" from the rest of the top of the tv. This meant that the clip was hanging somewhat precariously. Everything mounted, but the contact spot was a thin edge in the front, hover above the rest of the top of the tv. Easy to solve if you have some foam/packing material and can cut a wedge of it to slip underneath the mount. I'm not sure how to describe this properly, but if you have the same or similar TV, you'll know what I mean. Just cut a small wedge of foam and slide it beneath the mount so that it has a place to rest.

This mount assembles easily, is very sturdy and fits thin and thick flat screen t.v.'s. The Kinect locks into place firmly. The back plate is reversible to help with mounting on realy thin T.V.'s like my Samsung 40" LED, just make sure you tighten the screw that mounts the base to the back plate snuggly but do not overtighten as you might crack the plastic, I did not need to use the included velcro. Best of all is the fact that the mount is very inexpensive for such a fine working product. Well worth purchasing and looks nice.
