5Perfect for Windows VistaDec 05, 2009
By Toy Mom "ToyMom of 2"
I made the mistake of first purchasing the wrong software. This is the one for Windows Vista and I have a 9 yr old boy that is thrilled with it. He has wanted this for 3 yrs since he played it in school. I didn't realize that it was available for purchase. I have never seen it in a store and was thrilled to find it on Amazon. It is really fun and I must admit I have played with it as well !

Installed this on a Dual Core machine with Windows 7. Easy to install. Kids had no problem using it to make art and print. Still great after all these years.

My daughter used this at school and really wanted to play with it at home. We have had it since Christmas and both our kids (6 and 8 years old)LOVE it. It is easy to use and they don't need any help from us. Lots of fun for a great price.

We bought the game before buying the computer. It will not run on the new Windows 7. It was a huge dissapointment for our little one.

2What on earth?!?!?Sep 15, 2010
By Thomas
My kids have always used Kid Pix Deluxe 3 and loved it, however after upgrading their computers to windows 7, Kid Pix 3 would no longer run due to a change in how windows handles text to speech. So I ordered this - and thought that since it was a newer version it should be better, right? NO - WRONG!!! Somehow they have managed to take a wonderful classic kids software and junk it up. It tried to install an older version of the Adobe Reader, even tho the newest version was already installed - F - it should've quit and left the reader alone. Then the final straw - it looks like crap!!!!! Graphics are worse than version 3 and the drawing space is in a window that doesn't fill the screen if your resolution is set higher than 800x600, and most of todays monitors run at much higher resolutions than that - hello! It is 2010! How hard would it be for them to scale the software for higher resolutions? This looks and feels like software that was written 10yrs ago when everything was 16bit 800x600. What I really don't understand and ticks me off the most is that KidPix 3 didn't do this, so why does version 4 get worse and not better? Why didn't they just fix version 3 to run on Vista and Windows 7? I feel like I've been taken for a ride - thank goodness I didn't pay more than $10 for it - but even then, it's really only worth a couple of bucks.
