 NICE LAMP, WITH A FEW FLAWSJun 19, 2007

This is cute lamp. My 7 year old daughter likes it, and it goes well with her Tinkerbell themed room. The lamp has a couple of flaws that keep the rating down in my opinion. First, the music and dancing only happen when you turn the lamp on or off. If the lamp is already on, it would have been nice to have a separate button you could press if you wanted to hear the music and see Tinkerbell dance, but didn't want to turn the lamp off. Second, there is no volume control, and the music is REALLY loud. REALLY loud. ANNOYINGLY loud. A nightstand size lamp should have soft pleasant music, or at least a volume control.
Overall its just OK in my opinion. I didn't see any other options for Tinkberbell lamps, but if you happen to see one, check it out before you buy this lamp. If you can't find any other options, this lamp looks nice, and its cute, but know the limitations above.

I got this lamp when we redid my 5 year old daughter's room into everything Tinker Bell. It really goes well with the decor. Tinker Bell moves a bit and there is a rather loud and annoying tune that goes along with it every time you put on the lamp. Thankfully, you can turn the sound off at a switch on the back of the lamp!

My daughter wanted this lamp for her new Tinkerbell room. I read that it danced and stuff, and although I wasn't thrilled with that all, she wanted it so we got it. Well it's just weird. First, there is no way to turn the lamp on without having Tinkerbell dance. That makes no sense. You should be able to turn it on without all that. Then, to turn it on, you push a button and Tinkerbell does a dance with or without music. With it on, it's really loud. With it off, you can hear the motor running for Tinkerbell's dance which is also loud. So it's really a no win. Also, if your child falls asleep with it on, to turn it off your options are to either push the button again, which it goes through the same song and dance OR you can turn off the main power in the back. Kinda defeats the purpose having to turn the main power off and whatnot, but it's an option. Overall the lamp does look nice for the price. And yes, as a parent I can't say I like it, but my daughter thinks it's the best thing ever and in the end I guess that's what counts.

Another item we purchased for our 6 yr olds room. Arrived fast and was packaged well. Very easy to assemble. Looks cute and the Tinkerbell looks realistic enough. Turns on with or without music (selectable with switch) and Tinkerbell is animated (takes a bow and then spins 360 degrees).

I ordered this lamp for my daughters nursery. We are doing a Tinkerbell theme, and thought this would fit in perfectly! Unfortunately, it was not what I expected.
The first thing I noticed was how cheap it appears. It is classic kiddie plastic; shiny and not as durable as it would have to assume. Overlooking the less then desirable appearance, I began to assemble the lamp. It was beyond simple, and the three pieces(base,Tinkerbell,and shade) fit together perfectly.
I was only further disappointed when I turned the frightening little thing on! I made the mistake of having the sound switched to off. Having the music play may have downplayed the awful mechanical wheezing sound that came from the tiny twitching Tinkerbell! Poor little Tinkerbell has lost all her grace in this lamp. The sound coming from little Tinkerbell is something more befitting to a horror film, in which the toys are possessed by dark forces. The music did help to drowned out the poor possessed Tinkerbell.
It plays rather loud ( no volume control), but has a pleasant tune at the very least. The lamp does have a main power on/off switch, which allows you to turn the light on and off without the display turning on. Bonus! However, this did not always work. Occasionally, I still had to turn on the creepy little display to get the light on.
I am certain my daughter will get use to the noise and racket when we turn the lamp on, and once it is on it doesn't play anymore! All in all, I was very disappointed in the quality of this produce. But alas, as I hate return shipping things, I will keep the lamp in my daughters room. I can not truthfully say we will risk turning it on very often. At least it matches her decor!
