Jumpstart Advanced 2nd Grade includes a disk, "2nd Grade Essentials - 3D Virtual World", that requires an $8 per month membership in order to go past the 2nd Unit. The first two units get your child hooked on completing the levels, so saying "no" to the membership is very difficult. This disk is the best of the disks that come with the purchase, so it's even harder to say no. On the positive side, the educational value of the games is excellent and probably worth the monthly fee. If you go into this purchase with all the facts, you'll feel good about the purchase. If you don't know what you're getting into, you'll feel deceived and end up leaving less than stellar feedback...like me.

Brought the pack home, popped it in the computer, easy download, easy startup, 7 year old started playing, loved it. Turned computer off, went away for awhile, came back and tried to play again. Nothing. It kept saying it had to "fix" some items on JumpStart but then the repair process would stop loading. We uninstalled it, tried to install again. Same results. Apparently, they want unlimited access to your computer for the Essentials disc and the Math disc (neither will run without internet access) and if you have anti-virus software on your computer, it can't function once it starts messing with your files. For the limited time my child could play the Essentials disc, he loved it, played for over 2 hours. The two discs that will work without internet access are the Reading disc and the Typing disc and those are both great, age appropriate yet challenging.

Doesn't work very well on a Vista PC. We aren't using it, as it has too many problems. I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a really basic educational game that is a pain for my daughter. It will not even download to the computer so she can play the game which means she will ALWAYS have to rely on the CD in order to play it. She doesn't use it at all.

I ordered this expecting to get reading mastery, math mastery, typing mastery and 2nd grade essentials.
The disks I received are Mystery Club vol. 1, Fundamentals, Field trip adventure and Kid Keys.
The box is different and says it has Pet Playground instead of Kid Keys.
I purchased this because I thought I was getting different disks. Very dissapointed.
