1. To install, you must register with jumpstart/knowledgeadventure. 2. It checks for 'updates' even after first install. Doesn't explain what or why it is updating, just updating. 3. Then on exiting, it says 'collecting data' and sends data to a server somewhere (don't remember this being mentioned in the EULA even though I looked through it. Think it stated 'may collect'). 4. Upon trying to start it again, it looks for updates again even though it may have just updated recently. Also, needs to be connected to the net for the game to play upon startup and to exit on exit. Have had >5 previous versions of JumpStart programs that have not had to be connected to the internet in order to use and didn't collect or send data back. Will not pay a monthly/annual subscription fee and will not buy software from this company again until it can be installed on a standalone computer that does not require a connection to the internet. Isn't that the safest and easiest way to manage a computer the target audience needs to use? Complete draconian measures and can't wait for child to finish the 2 levels so that I can uninstall it and clean the registry.

I purchsed this game for a six year old and it was very age appropraite, however she only played the game for about five hours and then the game ended and told us that to continue this "adventure" we had to go to the website and become a member(which costs a monthly fee). My child was very dissappointed that she only could play through two learning levels before the game ended. What there was of the game was very good, the learning games were fun and it also taught basic keyboard skills. All in all a fun few hours, to bad it had to end so quickly.

I guess it was too difficult for them to program this to work on ALL computers. Nothing exotic with our machine, but apparently it doesn't like it, because it crashes right upon bootup.
Go ahead, risk your $$$...

This product is a RIP OFF. You can only use TWO MODULES before you are forced to PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP TO CONTINUE. The montly membership is as much as the program!

I love this program, I own the very first JumpStart World Kindergarten from 2006, I did the 12 month payments with it, but you only have to do it once, when you have all the levels you are good to go with all your kids reinstall in any computer log in and it knows you've paid and down loads your content. I am going to do the life member with these because they now have the one year plan, and my girls will use this for many years, My Kindergartener and my 2nd grader are doing great, yes they have compleated the 2 levels, but they just keep playing, you can never learn too much. When I save up the money then I will purchace all the rest of the levels. I love JumpStart World, and I hope they will make one for 3rd grade!
