Great upgradeOct 18, 2007
By Marcus0263 Back in the day I had the old Juiceman Jr., which did it's job. Well it gave out a few years ago and cleaning it was a pain. I did miss fresh juice though so I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I tell you what they have done a wonderful job, this is a very nice upgrade from the old design. A lot of refinements throughout the entire appliance. Stronger motor, two speeds, better looking and much easier to clean.
I defiantly recommend this and great price.

Very pleased so farJan 08, 2008
By James Calamera I received my Juiceman Jr "chrome" as a gift and have been enjoying it for about a week now, and so far I'm very pleased with it. I used to have a juicer but it was so incredibly loud that I only used it a few times. This one is very powerful but just about as loud as a blender. The juices I've made so far have been really delicious, and now when I'm hungry I find myself making a nice glass of fresh juice whereas before my first inclination was to go for less healthful foods, so I think it will have a lasting positive effect on my overall diet.
There are a couple of negatives I'd like to mention. First, the machine is not made of chrome metal, as the description would lead one to believe. The exterior is all plastic, some parts are just "chrome" colored. If I had ordered this myself, that would have p-ssed me off. Also, the rigidness of the removable / washable parts concerns me that they may crack as they age. I think a more rubbery (like Tuppereware) consistency would last longer. Another reviewer stated it only took them 30 seconds to clean their machine, but it takes me about 5 minutes to do it right. Although plastic, I do like the locking handle design- it feels safe to use.

Juiceman JM400 broken 4 times....Nov 03, 2010
By violosity We are big juicers. Our main home juicer is the Greenstar 2000. We got a Juiceman 400 as our travel juicer, but it has failed 4 separate times. Three were broken parts, and this last time the engine just quit! If you juice once a month, this might be OK, but if you really want a good juicer, that's not too expensive, we just replaced this JM400 with a CuisinArt 5 speed juicer. It's very quiet (whereas the JM400 sounds like a small jet aircraft). Don't try to run kale into your JM400. It's too weak and won't be able to juice it.
Bottom line. The JM400 is just a toy. I should have purchased the CuisinArt in the first place.

I'm addicted to juicing!Jul 14, 2008
By K. Bartley I love this juicer. My mom got a juicer a few months ago and it worked well but I read reviews on the Juiceman JM400 and it seemed like a good one. I've been juicing almost everyday since I received it. I can put as many fruits/veggies in one juice as I want. I just check the filter to make sure it doesn't need to be cleaned. Easy clean up overall. Once you know how all the pieces fit together it's easy to detach, clean and reassemble. I feel so good about all the good juice I'm drinking but even more, my kids love it and it's so good for them. My 7 year old son is not a big fruit and veggie eater but I can give him a juice that has five or six different fruits and he loves it. The Juiceman JM400 has easy clean up, a powerful motor and I love the stainless steel because I read reviews on some of the white juicers and they stained easily. My juicer still looks brand new and no stains. Great product!

Powerful and loudOct 14, 2008

I bought this juicer last night at Walmart (it cost more there!). Once I read the assembly instructions and rinsed all the pieces in warm, soapy water, I put it together and tried it out. Wow! It's powerful! It went through those apples and carrots like nothing else. I like the cup that goes under the spout; it's not too small and doesn't splatter juice everywhere. I don't use the separator, though, because I like my juice frothy -- especially the orange juice. Anyway, I only juiced three carrots, three apples and three oranges last night, but the machine had no problem and never hinted at getting clogged. When I went to clean it I took the pieces off one at a time and rinsed them under hot water. The small amount of pulp came off very easily. The pulp was a little juicier than what came out of my old Jack LaLanne juicer, but I didn't mind because it made it easier to rinse off. The only part that was difficult to clean was the mesh filter, but the included brush helped a lot; and I don't see how you could make one of those easy to clean anyway. I had placed a plastic bag in the pulp bin, so I didn't even have to clean that. When I woke up this morning I put the machine back together -- after letting it air dry in my sink strainer -- and juiced some more of the same. It was much easier to assemble and disassemble this time because I knew what I was doing. All in all it took only about 10-15 minutes to juice three glasses -- one apple, one orange, one carrot -- and clean everything.
I love this juicer! It's not too big and will not stain because it's stainless steel, which is great. My only complaint is that it is quite loud (scares the dog), but since I live alone it's not like I'm going to wake anyone up. I will keep experimenting with new fruits and vegetables, and if I ever have any problems I'll be sure to report them here. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this juicer.
