Nice watch but I want another LoftNov 12, 2010
By DHH BLUF - nice watch, easy to use, after a month has stood up to regular use and being banged around.
The rest of the story. Got a Highgear Loft as a gift in 2004. Big watch, big numbers, very sturdy, loved it. In the Army and took it to all the exciting rough and tumble locations under all sorts of conditions, it never let me down. Got lots of compliments on it and people were amazed at how big the numbers were. You could read it across the room. Very nice at night and in all weather conditions, occupational necessity. Unfortunately the plastic case broke and they don't make that model anymore. Got the Axio as a replacement. Very nice watch. Band has a simple lock to keep the extra strap under control. The buttons are easy to depress and very responsive, my only complaint with the Loft was that you had to mash the buttons. The numbers on the Axio aren't as big as the loft, but they are easily read. The axio has a seperate button for the backlight wich is very effective. Compass was dead on. Altimeter is close enough for government work and I just calibrate it any time I'm on the airfield to make sure it stays close. Overall I really like the watch after about a month of daily use.
But I still sent an email to Highgear and told them they should re-issue the Loft because it was a one of a kind.

Axio watchJul 05, 2011
By Scouter I have had this watch a little over a month. It is a tremendous watch. It is easy to read even in bright sun or dark. It only took a little while to learn to use. The functions are intuitive. The band is comfortable and the extra band length is held in place by a well designed loop. I looked at other watches with these features and most were $100 to $200 more expensive. I would highly recommend this watch to other campers, hikers, and outdoorsmen.

This is a very well put together watch. It has very useful features along with being a very nice piece of eye candy. I've only owned G-Shock watches up to now, but I really feel as though I've stepped up my watch game. I recommend this watch to anyone who is looking for a watch that is capable of navigation, or diving.

By knowuseforaname I have had lots of watches.... From the Casio mudman to the 5.11 tactical watches, and the best one so far has been this Axio High Gear watch. I have the black and tan one and it looks great in my acu's or my civilian's. This is a great watch and very accurate, down to the temperature to the weather. Its helped me during training and when I'm in my Jeep wrangler. Just know that when you buy this watch you will be more than satisfied... oh and don't worry about hurting it... it uses the same scratch resistance glass as the Rolex brand and it resist mud. This is a bad watch I don't know what else to say but I know you will be satisfied!

OkSep 15, 2011
By Champ Love the watch but was disappointed to see withing 30days of purchase that it is not water proof. Although, Highgear was excellent in their response and replacement of the unit.
