IT WORKS! BE PATIENTDec 30, 2010
By LauraHart Before I ordered this cotten candy machine maker, i did what any smart person should do. I checked the reviews!!! Surprisingly they were horrible! But i did my research and every nastalgia cotton candy maker seemed to have great reviews. So i thought to myself how could a brand new machine not work compaired to their older versions. I decided to give it a try, and im glad i did. I love cotten candy, just a little here an their and im happy. This machine is perfect for that matter. People have to understand your not getting a professional party/carnival cotton candy machine. This machine is ment for kids or cotton candy lovers! Judging from the reviews people did not read the directions well!.... I followed the directions above an beyond and it actually makes huges amounts of cotton candy if you do it right! First i put all the right peices together. That was simple. Then the directions say to turn on the machine and let it run for about 5 minutes. Its a brand new machine thats never been lite, so i gave it about 8 minutes. I could tell by looking at it that it was hot and ready to go. I turned off the machine and waited for the centerpiece to stop revolving. Poured in surger and pushed the sugar inwards to fit as much as possible without the sugar going over the sides ( hense why so many people complained about the sugar flying everywhere) With these types of fun house hold machines you have to think wisely. When i turned on the machine a light amont of sugar flew out (normal in any cotton candy machine) I waited for about 3-5 minutes and it slowly started forming a web ! i was so excited it worked! It made a good amount of contton candy. After the 3rd time i tried using the machine i was making great cotton candy!. The trick is the hotter the machine the more comes out and the faster! soooooo be patient. I guarentee half the bad reviews on here are from people who couldnt wait more then 3 minutes and were dissapointed when nothing happened. Read the directions! this is a great product and it was worht the money. Also use good quality sugar called floss sugar, specifically made for making cotton candy. do not use house hold sugar. Other than that read the directions and remember be patient it will work!

Dont buy it!Aug 05, 2008
By S. Fairbanks I'm totaly disapointed with this machine. It throws the unmelted sugar all over the kitchen, then the half melted sugar shoots out and sticks to the bowl. When it finaly gets hot enough to make cotton candy, there isn't much sugar left to make the cotton candy. If you add more sugar at this point, the shooting/spraying/throwing process starts all over! Also, make sure that you hold on to the machine while it is running. If you dont, the vibration is so bad that the machine will "walk" itself right off the table or counter.

Does not workSep 23, 2008
By Jody C. Mcfarland Such a Bumnmer! I love cotton candy and my husband bought me this cotton candy maker for our anniversary and although we try and try we just cannot get it to work. I have it all cleaned up and ready to be returned, just waiting to find the time.

One of the worst products I have ever encounteredJan 03, 2010
By Bob Dobbs This was a gift. It arrived broken but I was able to fix it with a glue gun. As at least one other review says, it mostly throws unmelted sugar around a radius of about 5 feet. A few measly strands of cotton candy are formed, and after about 15 minutes of operation enough cotton candy to form the size of a tennis ball is produced. Cleaning is a pain. Used once and am throwing it away if I am not able to give it to someone.

AMAZING!!!Jun 03, 2010

I almost didn't buy this cotton candy machine based on the reviews I read here. I decided to give it a try anyway, and thank goodness I did!
As soon I got home I set it up, and it was simple to operate. Not only that, it only took three tries and I was making perfect cotton candy.
I searched the Yellow Pages until I found a concession supply store, and I found the common sugar used by most amusement parks, theaters, etc. It's called "Flossugar" and is sold in half-gallon cartons for approximately $7.00. It makes around 70 servings, and is available in a variety of flavors. Also available are the paper cones, and they are incredibly inexpensive.
The grandkids are going to have an amazing lemonade stand this summer!
