Throwing axereviewJun 07, 2010
By P. M. Fletcher This small axe is easy to throw and well balanced. It is very sharp and sinks into trees readily. It is a great fun axe, but a bit smaller than would be ideal.

Best ever!Jun 06, 2010

"Axe insane"
This axe is strong, powerful and of course fun. I`m really liking the full metal body and how sharp it is. Though a setback is that it is very heavy but it`s still fast. Another thing is it`s its great at all distances. This axe is a must have for any thrower.

Gil Hibben AxeJul 12, 2010
By Gary J. Sousa Great company to deal with. Received Axe and after the third throw the axe broke. Sent a letter to the company and they immediately sent a new one. They even sent a prepaid envelope to return the broken axe. Will continue to order from them.

Bad steelNov 03, 2011
By lee michael kasmeier I bought one of these throwing axes thinking I was getting a great product. I was really wrong when the axe broke after throwing it a few hundred times. I took it to a family member who was a welder, and he told me that it was only good to look at. He said that weak stainless steel is not for throwing. I was very displeased with the China steel.

By C-Lo Maybe, it's because I have a first production of this axe (bought in 1995), but I have never had a problem with this item.
The Good: The axe is easy to stick, and even when it doesn't I've had it land on pavement, and all forms of other material without affect or breakage. The only mishap I've had, is when I threw it into a tree that had a roofing nail that I didn't see. After hitting the nail head dead center (luck. I'm not THAT good), you'd swear the blade looked like it had a speed bump in the middle of it. A little hammering later, and you barely even notice it was damaged at all. Almost like spring steel (which of course it is not)...
The Bad: It is kinda small to be used for more than a pure thrower, but the weight does lend to a little bit of chop. Also, because it isn't spring or Damascus steel, I can see how some production runs may lend to breakage. See the following YouTube as an example for why 420/440 isn't intended for hard use. (...) If you want truly functional blades larger than a knife or small axe, look for spring steel, good carbon/steel, or proper Damascus steel (harder to find), but also be prepared to pay for it.
